Well... dang... someone forgot to tell me it was going to snow.

Seems droopy and gloppy... and I have a couple of as-yet-uninstalled generators...
it would be cruel if the power line broke...

I saw that on the radar.  Did not know for sure if it would materialize.  I guess it did.

Mike, looks the same just up the road here. Took my dog out in the half light to catch a few snowballs. It might be gone by morning. She always has fun in our rare snows.

What time was that all gone by? I'm guessing it didn't last passed noon.
Here in NE OH we have 3-6 sitting on ground. Been here since last weekend. Not leaving for awhile. Forecast for the next 10 days ranging from a high of 31 to a low of -3.  Undecided

I hope so. I took those pictures after dark last night, it is 7am now, not really light
out yet. Still lots of gloppy snow out there... I skipped going to the grocery store
yesterday in favor of goofing off... might have been a mistake...

Absolutely gorgeous!
Is this typical for Winter? Think Canada, I think of SNOW.

I should clarify....Winters in SW BC are comparitively mild to the rest of the country, maybe a couple of snow  dumps a year and one or two bouts of below freezing periods. They only last for maybe a week or two and that's it, then the rains come and wash everything away in short order. That's why everything stays green. Also, this is only in the Southwest corner of BC, the rest of the Province gets a real Winter. I'm at the very edge of the milder weather region of the Province  here in our valley....45 -60  minutes North or East towards those mountains and I'm hitting Winter weather if I want to experience snow or go ice fishing. My Winter riding is restricted to more local roads only.
I've probably jinxed myself by posting this...seems to always be the case when I gloat about our comparitively mild Winter weather to the rest of the country  Smiley

I sincerely hope so, this blustery, cold weather has kept me and my Valkyrie in way too much.   I've only ridden (maybe) 30 days since January 1st.   There's a reason I live in the 39402 zip code.   drink

Was a brisk -14 when I got up this morning. Bright sunshine with a little breeze but the sun isn't going to do much good. Will be single digits and snow most of the coming week....assuming the pronosticators are even close to being correct. Meanwhile, my previous domicile of 53 yrs. is 71 w/rain. I'll take it over Wisconsin any day....even in summer.

what corner is spring coming, not anytime soon enough.  They say single digits thru next Sunday for highs with below zero lows at nights today is brutal cold -30 below wind chills.   It has been this cold before but not for 9 days in a row that I can remember.  Woke up to the entire bottom of my wooden patio door with ice accumulation on the inside of the door about 1 inch thick almost.  I have a space heater on HIGH thawing it out the last 6 hours about 2 feet away is slowing melting the ice inside away.  I guess the 4 foot tall drift in my backyard 10 feet from house entire 100 feet wide is not doing a good enough job to keep the winds from blowing up and over it to the house.

I cut thru the drift yesterday while 9 degrees out being a WARM day to get to my burning barrel in the backyard.  Am sure today being so brutal cold I could stand on the tall drift and not fall thru unlike yesterday.

In the late 1970s we had 30+ days we never got above zero, I was driving 1974 Bronco at the time and once it got that cold the heater didn’t do anything I have to use a blanket stay warm

My memory does not recall that long ago. My mind must be slipping I was under age 10 back in the late 1970s.    It has been warmer more than normal though the past 10+ years here in WI or at least if my memory recalls even that far back?

When my great grandparents were trekking across Canada in their horse and buggy looking for a good spot...if only they had a weather app or msb’s great grandparents (maybe grandparents  Wink )could have sent a text... only a few more weeks of riding could get them to that.

And of course as is the case many times, whenever I crow about my mild Winters, ol' Mother Nature comes and bites me in the a**. Woke up and opened the blinds to this early this AM. There was a "maybe" in the forecast yesterday, which usually means 70/30 No/Yes around here. Only nightly lows of -5C for this week, so this shouldn't last too long (I hope).
