This is a re-run from the Shadow Forum.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is that time of year again for our time honored tradition here on HSN - The annual HSN Christmas giveaway.

Someone started this a long time ago and it seemed to die off. I felt it was such a unique and awesome way for the members to give to each other that I resurrected it and have been doing it every year. There is no other event on this forum that brings out the best in our members and provides all of us with the chance to give, share and help out our fellow HSN members.

This is how it works.

Scrounge through your garage, shop, trailer, shed or what have you and gather up some of those biker things you no longer want or will use. Post those items on here for all members to see. If someone is interested, then send that person a PM. If your item finds a recipient, please post back that it is gone and spoken for. First come, first serve.

Once the recipient has sent you his/her mailing address, box up the gift and send it on to the recipient.

If you want to be a recipient of a gift, all that is asked is if that you truly have a need for the gift someone is offering. If not, then allow someone else to have a shot at it.

Surprisingly, a lot of members participate every year and there is never a problem of an item not being shipped, etc.. We have had some awesome gifts given here by our members who helped add some holiday cheer to another member. Skull caps, mirrors, jackets, ride bells, helmets, face shields, headlight modulator, patches, you name it. If it is biker related, it has been given away here.

Please do scrounge around and see what you have that you may want to send off as a gift to another HSN member then post your items on this thread.

May God bless every one of you and your families with happiness, good health and an abundance of love during this Christmas season. Thank you for participating and making another HSN bikers holiday season brighter.

Chris

This was run in the Shadow Forum with good results, 8137 reads, 175 responds to give aways.

Wonder if this might work for the New Year.

I`ll start with OEM Levers off a 98 Tourer. I might find other items.  Roll Eyes

Here's a bump, and since I just got new Kury Isos from my lovely wife for Christmas, I'll continue the offer with a used set of driver pegs from my '97 standard.  Still in very good shape, but they are just sittin' on the workbench... waiting for a home...

Embarrassed  Well after going out to the garage, finding them so I could take pics....   Embarrassed  Actually, these are not in good condition.  There is a scrape at the bottom of the opening on one, some scratches on the top of the other one, plus the top of the opening is bent.   Embarrassed  I hadn't really looked at these very closely.  The mufflers they came on were excellent, so I guess I just figured the tips would be too.  If someone wants/needs them speak up, but I won't be offended if nobody does.  Stan

The Give:   I have two full sets (Drivers, Pillion and Backrest) of STD/Tourer OEM seats, one set is plain and the other is studded.

And Take:  I need one rear signal light (left if it matters) if anyone has one that would be cool. I really just need the rubber piece between the main center housing and the signal light housing itself.

Bob

UPDATE: The Studded seat set is gone.

If all my parts show up tomorrow...I will have some parts to toss in the pile.  Ill list the ones with minor damage on them first.

--Valve cover....has tiny pepper marks from being too close to the gravel while she slid.....it never hit
the ground just got peppered a tad....if you busted one this will get you rolling again
--handlebars ....very small scratches on the right side.....so light, I almost didnt get a new one....
--Ultimate Passenger backrest....very slight tear in the backing material.......should be easy to fix if you
                                             do any upolstery at all
Fairly perfect items

--gas tankbase (the part the cap screws through
--one Original Cobra Light bar spot light with a 55W CB and a brow
--left side crash bar chrome is just not as sparkly as new, but looks good
--timing belt cover  chrome is just not as sparkly as new, but looks good
--Grip stuff: new throttle grip...end cap from clutch side
--fuel selector switch for the petcock

I participated in the Give Away, and gave away something but didn't see anything I wanted to put my dibs in for tho.   On other bike message boards this usually goes over pretty good.  The VTX Message Boards it goes over very well.  I have participated in the VTXOA Holiday Give Away, and this year opted to play here instead.... but  didn't get much play time here.  I think the idea is to do it during the holiday season, maybe a little before Christmas, in the spirit of giving and all.  Maybe doing it after Christmas ...everyone is all gave out or something.....    Grin

Bump this back to the top..... come out and play.....     cooldude     Grin

I know I have some stuff to offer but I can't get into the shed due to the 5 feet of snow that drifted up the the door.... So when the snow melts I will edit this post.  I know I have a set of OEM Brake Levers, I think I have the rear brake chrome cover (replaced w/ tranny cover)......  Not sure what else but I will let you guys know when I can get in the shed.... Suppose to warm up today so I hope to make it in there soon.....
