We have that. Putting something "someplace safe" is equivalent to running it through the shredder -Mike

My wife has a safe place for stuff. Same kind of place, so safe she can't even find the stuff. But it is never the same safe place twice, cause sometimes she finds some of the stuff she is looking for, but never all of it.

I can hide keys real good. I wanted to hide one saftydeposit box key for safe keeping. I did ,because I have never found it. Turned in the box and had to pay $15 for the extra key.

Just this last Monday morning, getting a cup of coffee at 7-11. Poured the coffee, added two packs of the yellow stuff, opened a creamer, poured the creamer in the trash and threw the empty creamer container in my coffee.
Ah yes... Mondays....

I went to Home Depot today. I left my cart in some aisle while I went to look for something...took me 15 minutes to find the dang thing.

It was explained to me recently that forgetting where we put "STUFF" is OK. If we can't remember what the item is for when we find it, then we have alzheimers.

Wow, glad that I am not the only one! I have been looking for the past two weeks for a Gerber survival knife that has been discontinued and suddenly became valuable. I put it in a "safe place" so my son wouldn't haul it off and abuse it. It is big - - 9" blade. No luck yet. I put a wonderful Victorian photo of my relatives in a "safe place" four years ago. No luck yet... Maybe when I retire in a few yrs.

No, I can't remember ever doing that.
Then again, I can't remember a lot of things.

How about this, on several occasions I have bought a tool at a tool sale or such thinking I might need it someday. Then when I get home I think of the perfect place to put it so I can find it when I need it and when I open the drawer or whatever I find I already have one stored there. Of course then you can remember when you bought it.

If you have kids, wife ,family forget about the dog he doesn't want to do the work then yes I can understand your problem. The neater things are the easier it is for them to find what they are looking for and hence you will never find it. A good precaution is a lock, its amazing, in my tool box for home, when I lock it all the tools are still there when I open it the tool gremlin didn't stand a chance not to mention you get feedback like why is the tool box locked? Well I like to know where my tools are is the answer and what do you need. I usually take a drivers license or for the younger members a favorite toy or cd works wonders never failed to get the tool back then. Of course the wife didn't appreciate the drivers license deal so had to modify the rules a bit, I hate strong arm tactics reminds me so much of the government.
