I like the songs sung by the Celtic Women.  Some more than others.  I just was listening to this song and it struck me that there might well be many meanings. A sailor leaving for a voyage, someone near death.

Also, if you watch the enthusiasm of the band as the lady begins to play the fiddle, they are smiling they are into the performance.  They enjoy the song, not just playing the instruments.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Now you're in my wheelhouse!!!!!

I'd be happy to be met by Celtic women as I pass over....

Some others I love:

Faun - Walpurgisnacht - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLgM1QJ3S_I

Anything from Heilung, but this is a good place to start - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRg_8NNPTD8

Another from Heilung (I REALLY like Heilung!) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64CACoHNBEI

Okay, if you're up for it, an entire concert from Heilung - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1BsKIP4uYM

No pretty womenfolk, but.... GOOD pipes and drum! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ_3hsCDp7k

And just because, my eldest spawn is in the upper right corner of the crown in bright blue in this beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace at closing gate at our local Ren Faire - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTdIUCx3voI

...and now that I've taken this in a total alternative world music direction.... Familiar with The Hu?

My favorite Mongolian throat singing death metal biker band!

Nope, I was not familiar with the other group as well.  The Hu is definitely different.

I like this comment.

I'm proud to be Mongolian, which is strange because I'm Hungarian

I too have always enjoyed their music. There have been quite a few changes over the years and this song is by most of the newer members except for Mairead. She is a holdover from the original and she is a little spitfire that plucks a mean fiddle.

The tune that came up next was also one of my favorites from the Celtic Woman.

Big fan of Celtic music. In 1997 we visited Colorado for the 1st. time and was up in the Rockies and lost FM signal thus switching to AM for grins and came across a station playing Connie Dover. Been hooked since.

Big fan of Roar series with Heath Ledger.
