https://www.theblaze.com/news/ready-bill-gates-says-all-rich-nations-should-move-to-100-synthetic-beef-to-combat-climate-change

“ I do think all rich countries should move to 100% synthetic beef. You can get used to the taste difference, and the claim is they're going to make it taste even better over time. Eventually, that green premium is modest enough that you can sort of change the [behavior of] people or use regulation to totally shift the demand.”

Won't be on my menu any time soon.  Probably not much worse than this stuff that most of us have unknowingly wolfed down at a Mickey D's or backyard BBQ.

So reading the article, or at least till I can to this
"Gates went on to plug a number of firms he invests in that produce meat alternatives, such as Memphis Meats, Beyond Meat, and Impossible Foods, noting that "as for scale today, they don't represent 1% of the meat in the world, but they're on their way."

That sum it up for me.  He is plugging the companies he has invested money in.

The plant based meat has a lot of chemicals in it.  Not sure I would want them in my body.   As all plant replacing actual meat ideas, where are you going to get the plant material.  Lots more land would have to be farmed.   OR are they going to stop making gas out of corn?

The lab grown meat is still questionable on the economic side.  May get where it could work if enough folks were doing it to bring down the cost.

Our local big chain grocery store has been adulterating the ground beef with this crap for the past few years.  We finally opted to buy from the Amish farmers instead of the more convenient big grocer.  I can actually taste the burger and no longer have to scoop the slime out of the frying pan during cooking.

The grocer also sells pork and chicken products that contain an extraordinary amount of saline injected into the meat to add weight and whatever else they use to keep the meat from discoloring until you get it home.

I guess we’re lucky to have access to an abundance of food compared to many other countries.

I  thought really strange spoken words  come from people that were kinda out there. These so called rich smart people have got to be  some of the  most stupid people on the planet. And people just fall in line with them.

Why and how does money make some people so stupid ? We need a time warp back to reality.
