There are some asking about when and where Big Bill's rig will be traveling back home from Texas.  I know that many would like to do a ride by or perform some escort to show respect to the family as it makes it's way back to Phoenix.  Riding by and waving to the family as they travel would be a true sign of respect.

March 2nd will be the day the trailer/truck starts the journey back to Phoenix with Bill's parents and the rig driven by Rams.  Looks like the route will be I-20 from Duncanville to I-10 in west Texas, then on to Phoenix and should take 2 days.  Don't know when the truck will be at specific points yet, where they will stop for the night (2 day trip).  A link to find them realtime will be posted on the morning of March 2nd.

That is correct.   Bill's Dad and Mom and other family members will be in separate vehicles escorting Bill's rig.   I'm just the driver.

Update:  Thad, Big BF's brother, will not be making the trip.  He recently completed treatment for leukemia and has not been vaccinated.  His doctor advised against him making the trip.

Planning on having a tracking app on Rams' cellphone so that you will know where they are on the trip in real-time.  IF that comes to pass, will post a link on the forum.  Any along the route could then plan to ride by and tip your helmet to the family.

Any updates? I think that F6BANGER and I would like to ride along, while the convoy is headed through the Land of Entrapment.
We would like to give a proper escort through the state as far as we can.

Sir,
I will fly in on Monday evening and we're going to try to get the bike unloaded, parts found (if necessary) and put the truck/trailer in travel mode.   If, we are successful we will attempt to depart on Tuesday morning.   If not, it maybe Wednesday, I honestly can't tell you.  No one has entered the trailer since Bill locked it up and no one knows what the situation inside is so, that's about all I can tell you.

Mark will know everything as it happens and I'm very sure Mark will update information as appropriate.

I have set my phone so that Mark can track us or me.   Bill's Dad and Mom will be following along.   I'm sure it would warm their hearts to see some Valkyries do a fly by.

If anyone else would like to track Bill's rig, send me your contact information (via PM) and I will add it to my phone contacts then, under "Find a friend" and set it to allow you to see where the rig is along the intended route.

Edited:  This assumes those interested can use the "Find a Friend" app.  I've got an Iphone, I don't know if that will work with other brands.

Perhaps someone can take on the task of updating your current location here and on Facebook.  I can't, I'll be at work.

We are looking at alternatives that will update automatically.  Will know more by Tuesday after Rams is here.

Downloaded Glympse (a tracking/locator app) and appear to have it working but, I don't have a clue as to how to advise others to track us.   I assume by my phone number???

Rainmaker (Mark) has advised me that we'll be doing this on Facebook so, look for a follow up from him.

Bump to top... I also heard the bike is out of the trailer now. Is that True? Do you have any idea how many mile a day Bills parents may be able to drive? Probably shouldnt push to many per day. Just a thought.

Ron, you're a good egg.

I was thinking the other night, and remember Bill had a slew of high tech gizmos attached to his dash, not to mention all the factory tech.  Did you have to enter a master password to get his truck started up, or take a tech tutorial so as to not get flabbergasted with it all?   Huh?

Hoping the trip is smooth.

Seth,
Arrived today, saw the truck and trailer but don't have the keys to get in.   Meeting with Bill's parent tomorrow and will try to get this show on the road.   We'll see if that happens.

Greg,
I'm just the driver, only trying to do what needs to get done.   Bill was a friend to all of us and his family needs some help.   Not a big deal for me to drive this rig, I can't think of anyone else more qualified who wouldn't have to miss work to do it.   Please don't make a big deal of this, many have helped in other ways more than I.   Appreciate all the good thoughts but, as I said, I'm just the driver.
