While taking off my CA edition Evap Canister so I can use my lift adaptor both the gas vent tube (#8 in the diagram) and my Evap return tube (#9 on the diagram) came completely off the bike.  I had planned on plugging #9 and leaving #8 open to vent the tank.  Both lines were dried and cracked at the top of the tube so they basically just fell off.

Can I ride like this?

I assume the tank is still vented it just doesn't have the line attached to it.

Obviously fumes will no longer be rerouted back into the engine but is there an issue with leaving that side of the "T" open and allowing fresh air to be pulled in there?

Yes it is time for a full desmog as many off you suggested but I would like to ride until then.

Thanks again for all the help, Matt

I wouldn’t. If your bike sits in the sun with a full tank it will purge out. It’s bad enough having a pint of gas on the pavement, having it all over the engine could be really bad.

That is a very good point!

Do you happen to know the sizes of those tubes?

Thanks for helping out, Matt

I don’t remember to be honest. I just got 3’ of clear tubing at Ace Hardware. If I were to guess, I’d say 3/16 ID.

Last time I replaced my vacuum lines everything was either 3.5mm ID or 4.5 mm
