Short background:  I had taken a few Seafoam canisters, painted a red band around them and used them to carry a little extra oil in the saddlebag of my 1100.  Riding they're in the saddlebag but on the shelf in my shop when home.  Had nephew helping me with the Valk this am.  Asked him to put Seafoam in my tank (just filled yesterday after a short ride).  You guessed it......have about 3 or 4 ounces of oil in a full tank of gas.

My first thought is drain and flush.  If so, what's the best way to do it?  Should I syphon as much as possible then drain through the petcock?  Drain all through the petcock?

Never had this happen so not sure.  Thanks in advance....and no, there are no more "oil containers" in the shop.

I wouldn’t worry about 3 or 4 oz. It’s regular motor oil ?

I’m curious why you bring the oil on trips ?

I don't think 3-4 oz of oil (1100 Vtwin; 10-30/10-40?) in a full tank of gas will hurt anything.

Run it down a gallon and a half and top up again.  Maybe add a bit of real Seafoam or Berryman's.

I doubt you foul a plug or even get any smoke. (whiter vapor on low side startup is not oil in gas)

Rookie assistants need closer supervision.   Smiley

After it's gone, pull a plug or two to look at them (if you want).

Ride her and run it through. You’ll be fine.
As previous poster said, top it off when you hit a half tank.

wow u put seafoam in your tank which has pale oil in it, which solidifies on the back of the hot valves and was designed in the 1930s for 2 stroke outboard motors and your worried about 3-4 ounces of motor oil in the tank?

run it and then top off with a gallon of gas as soon as it will take it.

Decided to pull the tank to drain and clean air filter.  K&N filter is drying as I type, drained the tank and put the gas in my truck.

98Valk - yes

Jess - mentor needs to get his act together, my fault, not his....but he sure feels bad.

Meathead - my 1100 Tourer uses a little oil.  This engine is noted for it, especially when your on the highway at higher speeds.  I carry the oil and top off at the end of each day when traveling.

Thanks all.

my bike dyno'd 120HP with OEM filter with the metal screen on the filter removed. no need for k/n air filter.   hope this helps your decision.

Another question......this is the first time I removed the tank.  I easily found the fuel line and the vacuum line, thought that was all.  However, looking at the manual tonight, it references these and a breather tube.  Is this only on the CA model?  I didn't see, find, remove any breather tube from my tank ?

Thanks

Vent tube was likely attached and simply detached when you lifted the rear of the tank.
Check the area right in front of the threaded hole for the rear-most tank bolt.
Vent tube is probably just sticking up there, open.
