How many of you remove the in-tank screen filter and use only an inline filter instead?  On an older Honda, CB900C, the in-tank filter has bonded to the outlet so tight that removal for cleaning may damage it.  A replacement in-tank filter is rare and expensive.

Thanks / Pluggy.

I've had my Pingel manual valve out and it's the same as the OEM. That being said I'd say fuel flow with present set up is more important/better in comparison to revising to a down line filter and space is at premium to do this also. If it works, don't revise it.  Smiley

You could buy one of these, use the screen and throw the petcock away if you wanted. cooldude

I tried an in-line filter years ago.  Had serious flow issues.   Stick with OEM.

Yes.  I may do that.  The only available OEM Honda filter is about $36.  I have the rebuild kit.  Waiting on an M3 tap to arrive.  The eBay petcock is somewhat different than the one on the bike.  Maybe because mine is an early 1980 Made in Japan.  I have been riding it for over 40 years.
