Just wondering if there is some venting of ?? That can do this? Thought maybe battery but its sealed and has no signs of corrosion at the box/seat area. The left side is still as new. These are only about a year old and gets cleaned every time I'm close to the bike.  ??? Or are these prone to this?

When I bought my first Valkyrie in 1998 Cobra driver floorboards was one of the first things I bought for it. In less than 6 months I had them chewed off up into the rubber  foot pads Angry

My Interstate has passenger Cobra floorboards and chrome blows off them going down the road...I think its just poor workmanship that makes them do that  Undecided

It is just crappy chrome preperation, however, Cobra has sent me replacements twice now for the de-flacked ones.  Including my light-bar once.

Contact them about it.

I seen a lot of flakey Cobra stuff, especially floorboards... My buddy Henry's Kuryakyn light bar
is flaking too, I wonder if road salt has anything to do with it (not that we have much of that around
here)...

I have a Cobra rear brake reservoir cover and Cobra radiator side covers, I hope they don't flake -
almost unobtainable these days... I wonder if Hard6 could re-chrome this stuff? I asked around here
once and some chromers can't do aluminum...

Mine did this after spening the winter in the barn. This was 2-3 years after buying them. I didn't have the reciept. I called them and they said to send them to us and they will send me new. Cool. My current set is doing it to but it doesn't really bother me yet. I'll call them in a year or 2. My right side was the worse. Maybe cause its exposed more?  ??? Call them up, you may get new ones for free to.

Contact Cobra and tell them that you don't have the receipt anymore. That's what I did, and they did me good!  cooldude

I did the same thing on my Cobra floorboards on my previous I/S.  They told me to ship them to them and they'd look them over and if they were flaking due to a manufacturing defect, they'd replace them free of charge, which they did.  On my present I/S, both my driver and passenger floorboards are flaking, as well as the mounts.  I think I'll contact them again in the spring.

I got same response.

My ?..... I have a set of Cobra Passenger Floor Boards on my 99 I/S Valkyrie and they have lost most of the chrome finish. What can be done about this?

Their answer......The floor boards come with a 90 day warranty. If you are within that time frame give us a call at 714-692-8180 and we will give you a return # for a warranty return. Thanks for asking     Cobra, ride safe.

So what do you have to do to get in that special circle, the one that gets what they want.  tickedoff

Daytona...Just keep them waxed. I had the same problem on various parts. I was never lucky enough to get any free replacements, even with my receipts.  I replaced all my stuff and wax it once a month, no more problems. I would say this is even more important living in Florida with the corrosive salt air and high humidity. I know some would say this is excessive, works for me and keeps an old bike looking new cooldude
My levers are hard to keep the chrome on for some reason, tried different brands, just seems to blow off within a year or two Sad
