Took off on a rare solo ride today with The Dragon on my mind. I had planned to do a over-night to Mount Mitchell , North Carolina for the annual " Kiss My Ice Ride " but the weather would not allow with bitter cold and snow expected on the mountain last night and tonight.Temps was in the low 30's at Deals Gap and I finally got to meet a few guys from another motorcycle site I'm a member of . First picture's are from the over-look on the Tennessee side.

The Dragon was wet in many of the 318 curves but I still got in a decent ( 2 ) runs at it. I saw a police officer at Deals Gap but he was'nt nowhere to be found on the way back out of North Carolina.

Other than a guy I met at the over-look from Michigan who trailered his Yamaha FJR down to God's country these are the only riders I saw all day.Three are members I've talked with a year or so on another motorcycle site and finally got to meet them.

Took a picture of this bike I like the way he made the mounting hardware for his trunk.

DarkSide on a Kawasaki Vulcan this is the first Kawasaki I've seen with a car tire and the dude claims he loves it.

Made my way back into Tennessee with a few stops for photo op's. This is about mid-way through The Dragon at two different locations.

Took this last one down by the lake on US 129 ...No Doubt   Shocked

I'm thinkin' one of you northern guys have forgot to shut the door . It's going to get bitter cold here starting tonight with low's in the teens and high's 20's -low 30's next week. I gotta go back to work Monday  Cry so at least the cold weather won't be cutting into my ridin' time.Anytime you can make a trip this way Floyd even if you trailer let me know I give you the grand tour of some of the best roads for motorcycling in the nation.

Great if you have'nt made a reservation for " The Whiskey Run " do so as soon as possible . Right now you can get a ground level park at your door room.

Quality Inn ... 1875 New Haven Road...502-348-9253...You will need a room for Friday June 11 and Saturday June 12... Bring It...LET'S RIDE  Smiley
