I was trying to reassemble the right hand control housing.  I ran into a problem.  The kill switch has a piece attached that I can't remember how to orient.  Either way I try to put it on causes interference.  I was long enough ago that I took it apart the I can't remember and I failed to take pictures - I mean, it's ONLY a switch how hard could it be???????!!!!!!!!!!

The piece of metal in question is the gold colored one on the right under the screw.  Looks like a hold down but it JUST DOESN'T FIT.

I sent you a message with a video showing how it goes.

After watching it once and replying to your PM I went back and was trying to move through it 'frame by frame' and I found a spot at 9:11 that seems to show that clip off to the side like I left it when I quit today.  I don't remember it like that when I took it apart but, hey, I'm old and half the time I don't know what day it is so I think I'll just go with it.

Ah!  Well thanks Ramie.  It's a wire hold down.  I don't have any recollection if that wire bundle was routed that way when I took it apart or not but now that I've seen it I can do it that way.

It's so obvious after Ramie's pic, isn't it? And yea, the previous person might have screwed the hold down in the wrong position.

Detail, if the hold down is correctly positioned on the other side of Point A (red rectangle), this allows the wire harness to be routed in a channel between
Point A and Point B (bottom pic.).

..... channel between Point A and Point B (dashed lines).

I'll never know at this point if that hold down was correctly positioned when I took the housing apart or not.  When I was fiddling with it the other day I ended up putting it where it is in the picture to get it out of the way.  At one point I had it in the position you indicated but I could see no reason for it being there which is what prompted this post.  Now that I see it's to hold a wire it makes perfect sense.  You know the old saying, "one picture is worth a thousand guesses."

I annotated some other member's pic of the lower clamshell (right handlebar).  Of note, the bulge on the hold down faces up if you removed it.

I got that wire hold down sorted out today, thanks to all the help here, and I'm on to the next problem.
