If not familiar with it, it's about family members that have been given up for adoption or some other major event as a child and are looking for their parent(s) or possible siblings. I watched another portion of it this afternoon while taking a break from bike work, it really tugged on the old heart strings. I was adopted at age 2 by some wonderful folks. I didn't find out until a teenager that I had an older brother. Unknown to me or other relatives at the time, I also had 3 younger brothers and younger sister. Only two of six kids were full brothers, the rest were half-siblings.

Today, finding family members like that is much easier than when I started my search. With various social media, mail-in DNA testing, etc., it's almost a walk in the park in comparison. If interested in how I found my "family" I'll fill you all in as to the steps taken and the results gained, some not too pleasant at the time but most were thrilling.  Smiley

I went through 40 years of my life knowing I had a child out there that I had never met and and longed
To know what happened to him or her.
When younger back in 1968 was going with a lady who was the bosses daughter. Well one thing lead to another and she became pregnant. Well the staff really hit the fan. They were really religious and things being the way they were then, they simply just sent her away never for me to see again.
Guess I don’t have to tell you what happened to the job I had.
I went through my life always wondering what the heck happened.
Well back in 2016 I started getting calls from a woman that would leave me voice mails saying
She had some information for me. Well with all the scams out there I never called her back.
Finally one day she called and I had had enough of the calls I answered.
Turns out she was what is called an intermediary for people looking for their biological parents.
She let me know ther was a lady looking for me and was the daughter I had never met.
I took months before I was allowed to contact her directly because of the way laws are in Va.
All I can say is thank God she got her mothers looks and her brains.
She was a Professor for Texas Univ in Austen in the I.T dept., she is now in the U.A.E working in the banking industry there .
Cant tell you what a burden was lifted off my soul by my being able to actually  hold this girl and give her the story from my point of view.

What an honest and uplifting story. Thanks for sharing it.  cooldude I have never forgotten a girl that was trying to track down her father decades ago. It was heartbreaking to see the false leads and hopes that she went through. Thanks again  cooldude

Well Bruce....and everyone actually, I did finally make contact with my bio-mother, half sister and one half brother. Turned out the other brothers died of lymphoma cancer at a young age, plus my bio-father at age 56 so I never got to meet him. The one half bro, half sis & I had a wonderful reunion. My mother was a tiny thing, when I hugged her I was able to touch my shoulders with my hand from the opposite side. All have long since passed away, leaving me as the surviving member of a family of eight. I'm also the surviving member of a family of four which was my adopting parents and an adopted sister. Actually my adoptive mother died of cancer when I was age 10, dad remarried not long after and she died of the effects of numerous strokes at about age 72 0r 73. Dad lived to age 93. A strange coincidence between both sets of parents. My bio-parents names were Jack & Vivian, my adoptive parents with dad's second wife were John & Vivian, dad was often called Jack....a common thing for those named John. So, I had bio-parents Jack & Viv plus adoptive parents John(Jack) & Viv. There's much more to the story re. how I finally found my bio-family, but it's somewhat detailed and of little importance. Just know it didn't happen overnight but the thrill was by no means diminished.

An interesting side note re. my first wife. She had been raped prior to my meeting her in Denver while I was going through tech school in the Air Force. She carried the baby and put it up for adoption. Many years later, they made contact and my girls were thrilled they had a half sister. As some of you know, both my oldest and my daughter #3 were taken from us by cancer. A couple years ago, my youngest daughter here in Wisconsin showed me a picture of the rape baby, now a full grown lady of 61 at the time. The picture made me break down in tears....she's nearly a twin of my oldest daughter we lost. I hope to one day be able to meet her, she lives in Illinois so shouldn't be too difficult. Life certainly has some strange twists to it.
