Here in NC, a Valkyrie trike is rare.  One for sale is really unusual.  Goldwing trikes are often available and some are nicely priced.  Would you consider a Goldwing?

If one wishes to find a "Valkyrie Trike", one must expand their search area.   I just bought one and had to travel from Southern MS to KCKS to get it.

Went through this 3-4 years ago with my wife.  Trish was dead set to buy a Spyder before we went to InZane in Morgantown, WV.  As soon as she saw and sat on Barb's (Wisconson) Red & White Tour Trike she was hooked.  She wanted a Valkyrie Trike and nothing else.  We found a very average Red & White with an older Motortrike kit in FL.  Went and bought that.  It had a six degree rake and was ok but still bothered her arms a little. Spend a year or so fixing it up and then we found a like new Red & Black 2000 Interstate Trike with a almost new Independent Suspension Roadsmith kit with Air Ride in FL.  We bought it and sold the Red & White.  It had a stock Valkyrie Rake.  Very hard to drive in the mountains.  Went to dealer in GA and had a 8 degree Rake put on.  It was great.  She can ride all day in the hills / mountains and not bother her arms.  Last year while at InZane had a local Trike shop put Reverse on it for her.
Sorry about the long response.  She loves her Trike and has no interest in any other Trike.  She's put over 20,000 miles on it in last couple of years. The funny thing about Trish's story is she had never ridden a motorcycle or driven a stick shift before buying a Valkyrie Trike.
There are 2 Valkyrie Trikes for sale on cycletrader.com.  Black and Tan and a all black.  One in Michigan and one in Wisconsin.  Valkyrie's with newer Trike Kits can be a little rare but do come up for sale.  You just have to travel and get them.  It has gotten a lot easier to go and pick up a bike or trike.  Uhaul has motorcycle trailers and 6x12 trailers.  We used them to pick up both of her Trikes.

I was fortunate, my long haul to pick up my trike was a real killer....25 miles.  Grin  It's a '99 I/S with a Roadsmith conversion, has 64k miles on it. The general appearance is great but ran like crap on the way back to the hovel and once I started working on it, it became apparent why. Cool/cold weather followed shortly so haven't had a chance to get it out on the road much, besides...I'm still a bit leary of the way trikes handle so haven't done more than 55mph so far. I would like to have a little softer ride. It has a 6 deg. rake kit so steering is quite easy for me. Looking forward to traveling on it this summer.

Mr. Rams, glad you were successful finding a Valkyrie trike.  Shopping for a used bike (or similar) often means traveling to discover something less than advertised.  One of my lengthy trips was to a "seller" who changed his mind.  Any tips to achieving success?

Yeppers, the danger comes in when the seller is less than honest in his/her advertising and conversation.

I once drove from central KY to upper Michigan to buy a gooseneck enclosed trailer.   Got there and the pictures only told part of the story.   The seller was shocked that I had driven that far only to go home without the trailer.   He said he'd never had that happen before.   I guess he never dealt with someone who expected honest answers.

My only advice is to have a trusted friend close to the seller's location check it out prior to making that trip (if possible) and ensure the seller knows you will leave without the trike if, it is not as advertised.
