A youtube video mentioned that the I/S tank emblem is gold and chrome. Is this an Interstate thing as the emblem on my
Tourer's gas tank is only chromed.

I think gold ones (or gold and chrome) were available aftermarket.

I don't think any Interstates (worldwide) came with them.

When I purchased my 99 Interstate it had gold tank emblems and the letters on the trunk were also gold. Over the years the gold on the tank emblems started to wear off and I ended up just polishing the emblems so they are now all chrome.

My second IS had those Golden emblems, and I liked them. I found out that they where aftermarket. Always meant to remove them and swap out with regular chrome ones, so I could keep them for my next bike.

The gold emblems were a Honda Accessory, I had a set brand new in a honda package. They are also listed in the Honda Accessory Catalog.
