As if lockdowns worked in MI the first time around?   So if it doesn't work try,  try again?  uglystupid2  Send 'em more vaccines, already!

The evidence would suggest a lack of following CDC guidelines and not getting vaccinations but, that's just me speculating on what I've been reading.   Does not appear to be a "new" variant.
Edit:  Anyone know which is the predominant vaccine being used up there?   Just curious.

I tried yesterday to get an appointment for my wife to get the vaccine, she is eligible, yet none are available.  I don't want the vaccine myself.  I did find out that a friend, his wife, son, grandson, and grand daughter all came down with Covid.  The governor of MI is an IDIOT.  Her only plan to address this is SHUT IT DOWN.  She has done this since the beginning and it isn't working, so let's just keep doing it.

If you are inclined to prayer, please say a few for my friend and his family.

I agree Whitmer is an idiot,  but this time it sounds like she would rather keep things (somewhat) open and vaccinate more folks, and the whacko CDC director is suggesting Whitmer should lock the state down.  Can't make this stuff up!

Prayers for your friend and his family.   I just prayed, for "Skinhead's friend and family.  Joe, Skinhead from the VRCC, his friend and family.   You know who I'm talking about..."

It’s pretty obvious to me that our process for disseminating the vaccine is flawed. My wife and I received our shots over a month ago, and I have bee now notified by numerous other outlets I could call and make an appointment, yet Joe can’t get an appointment for his wife. We initially registered at many places, and waited to hear from them. When Macomb county health department gave us slots, we have since cancelled with the other outlets, yet they still send us emails notifying we can get the shots. As far as the recent spike, the state epidemiologist suggests one of the reasons we are experiencing this, is that we did a decent job this past winter, fall and summer of staying away from eachother, lowering the number of cases, but at the same time, fewer people sick means fewer people developing immunities.
When the governor, who I agree is not only an idiot, but an elitist tyrant, opened things up, lots of people were susceptible. It’s  kind of a perfect storm.

Definitely not even distribution.... The honey hole I got mine at in early January in rural East Texas I've been keeping an eye on, and lately they've been having open slots going unfilled almost daily now.

The other curious thing that’s happening is in the fair city of Deeetroit. They set up a mega distribution space at Ford Field, Home of our beloved Lions. Run by Wayne county, it is there’s as a response to the local communities claims that the virus is treating them unfairly because of their lack of good health which in turn is attributed to that new nemesis, systemic racism. Well apparently, there are open spots every day that go to waste because of a lack of urgency by that demographic to be vaccinated. We live in truly strange times, indeed.

If you're 18 or older in KS and MO - you're eligible. My county has 3 sites that do both walkins and appointments, and the county just did a big mailout announcing an expansion in hours available.

We are to the point where it’s not so much lack of vaccines, but fighting the misinformation. It’s certainly not confined to inner cities. You can see gobs of it right here.

Who are you guys?  We MIVRCC members?  We are individuals and are each entitled to our own opinions.  I was never in favor of the lock downs, and wish she would lift them.

There are several Michiganders (Not necessarily a MIVRCC members)that are questioning whether she should open up.  I assume those are the "you guys" you referred to.

IMHO, we (Michigan) have been locked down since the beginning, and it did next to nothing to reduce the spread of Covid.  She has ruined many businesses in doing so.  Our children are not learning in our schools due to lockdowns and on line schooling.  The Governor is a joke.

I guess “you guys” meant Romeo. I shouldn’t have lumped “you guys” all together. I imagine this pandemic and it’s responses will be studied for years. It seems pretty obvious at this point we as a country handled it poorly. It’s sad that we have 3 times the death rate as our neighbors to the north.

Point taken Rob, but I think Jess has a point too. Our population density alone makes it easier for us to stay apart. Especially in places like here in SK, where 99.9% of the population don’t take buses, have never seen a subway, etc.

I think you guys have been hit harder up til now. But your vaccine production and roll out is happening waaaaaaaay faster than ours, so you’ll be opened up and living life and we’ll still be waiting for vaccines because 1. We don’t have the domestic manufacturing you do and 2. We have a useless clown and his useless government in charge of procuring them.

On a positive note...my province got down to 46 year olds today, my wife and I got our vaccines. My parents are vaccinated now as well. I’ve been missing my dad's barbecued prime rib like you wouldn’t believe for the last 14 months. Can’t wait.

“We” are not blaming her for opening things up. The snowflakes are coming unglued though. Also the medical community, who are being overworked again.  Her half measures have thrown fuel on the fire, actually, on everyone’s fire, regardless of which side of this issue you are on.

Here in OR, two of my grandsons, 18 & 16, were able to get their first shots yesterday.  Our Governor has opened us up shots.   No more age groups.  In our county, the local hospital is the one responsible for getting the vaccine and shooting folks.

Sounds like Michigan is having issues.

We are able to have sit in meals,  not sure how long that will take place as we are having an increase in Virus cases.

Wear one when required by business that I am going into.   Ate at a Subway (100 miles from hone) on Saturday in another town, wore it for a few minutes, then took it off.   No one said anything to me.  When the DW and I walk on a trail near home, we do not wear mask.  Most of the other folks don't.   Sat talking to my Mom yesterday outside at Assisted Living place with several other residents.  No mask were worn, inside yes, outside no.   All of us had had out shots.   So, mask when required.
