I found one used on Ebay recently.  It was taken off a parted out '99 Valkyrie.  I was delighted to find it and discover it was in very good condition.

Because of the quality. OEM costs the same because it says Honda on it even though they are not always reliable.

As was stated.. quality material, also made in the US... which means a higher price to support US workers.  Pingel will also refurbish/replace them for just the shipping cost... I had mine replaced for $20 worth of shipping when the seals finally died.

Funny how everyone is all 'MURICA' until it is time to but something made in the US and then they'd rather support walmart/dollar general/amazon/wish and get some cheap piece of crap from China.

Not bashing China as they are capable of making high quality products but at that point the cost is approaching a US made product so why bother.

No comparison between OE and Pingel.  Pingel is far superior.  But hey, if you decide to buy a new OE one, I'll take that Pingel off your hands.  Grin

1st. thing I do when I turn the key off, shut off the fuel. Been doing it 52 yrs. even on the 1100 Spirit with a fuel pump. Mine came with a Pingle and they are definitely high QC! The only thing I've done is made a blackout "beauty" cover for the motor mount bracket where the OEM was mounted. Kinda BFU w/o the OEM petcock in place.
