That album came out right after I had to make the choice to either cut my hair or drop out of high school...
I reluctantly chose to cut my hair but vowed to the principal I'd be successful with long hair; he didn't believe that was possible...
That album helped me deal with the situation in a far more..... healthy.... manner than I was headed down before.
Texas culture and schools are different. I did 3rd thru 6th grades in Corpus Christi. I would get paddled if my shirt tail was out of my pants. We lined up on the sidewalk to face the flag and sing the Star Spangled Banner. Then go in the classrooms and say the Pledge of Allegiance. And friend and I once got paddled for joking around going into the classroom. Moving to a libertarian Alaska when I at 13 was my saving grace. I’d have never survived down there.
