I just yesterday (Thursday) worked on a motorcycle safety PSA for TxDot.  The scenario is the aftermath of a motorcycle (CB175) collision with a car.  In the final product we'll never see the rider, but instead we'll see pictures of their life.  This will air throughout the state as well as internet and social media.

Here's a link to a couple of production pics...

My company provided lighting and camera support, plus I came in as the Gaffer for the project.

Make sure any pictures of the car driver have her holding her cell phone in her hand.    crazy2

Thanks for sharing Charlie, hopefully your work and the state will enhance driver awareness of motorcycles and their riders.

Jess, to be clear...the driver in the PSA is a guy...

Thanks Eli.  This is part of the TxDoT "Share the Road: Look Twice for Motorcycles" campaign.

(Also, just so you know, I was paid for my work and for the equipment rental, but being a state funded PSA, the rates were not what something like a commercial production would pay.)

As a side note: I can't help but think that retired State Senator Kirk Watson was instrumental in getting this campaign off the ground.  He's an avid motorcycle enthusiast who would ride to Sturgis for fun and often mentioned motorcycle safety in his monthly news letter while he was Senator.  He is now the founding Dean at the University of Houston School of Public Affairs.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Kirk Watson a few times, but have never ridden with him.

One of the most sobering motorcycle PSAs I've seen.
From BBC maybe 15 years ago?

I would elaborate but it would compromise the purpose of the video.
