So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

Covington, TN

« on: May 05, 2021, 07:30:24 AM »

Can anyone tell me what the car in this commercial is?   The SU likes the look and thinks she may want one.   I have no idea but, I'm pretty sure it's out of my price range but, I said I'd look into it.  BMW Z3 maybe?

https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=allstate+commercial+song&docid=608001390194028507&mid=BAC23389D5505C13F86ABAC23389D5505C13F86A&view=detail&FORM=VIRE

It does have a catchy tune.

Looks expensive and I bet that talking hood ornament really adds to the price.  Wink

This guy seems to think it's a "2016 BMW 435i Cabriolet with a custom front end"

yah probably a beamer but the front grille throws it off for sure

I like the flying woman/nymph hood ornament would be a good front fender ornament on our Valks I think... Wink

I’m betting they didn’t want to give any free advertising to a carmaker so the images were altered to not allow more than a profile to identify. Or could the whole vehicle be CGI?

Get her one of these.  I don't know what it is, but I'm pretty sure it's not a Ford.   Grin

Here's the one I want.

But I'll probably have to settle for this one.

 cooldude cooldude

They really edited the heck out of it, and took off any badges that would identify the car. Its not a real car meaning the one in the commercial its all CG but the car that Jess likes is a real car and sold awhile back.

FYI do not buy any BMW newer than 16 or 17 since the problems they are having with the engines and research them carefully.

Jess the car in the pic at the top Captain Nemo's car sold in about 16

https://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/a20125/league-of-extraordinary-gentlemen-car-ebay/

So what's it gonna take to get Nemo and its custom trailer aboard your personal submarine? Well, reserve is met, and the reserve is $165,000. As I told Freeman the day I drove it, wealthy people covet an object that nobody else can have, and there's only one of these. It's a beautifully executed car, but it took him 6,500 hours. He's not building another one.

Robert,
Would you mind enlightening me on these issues?   One may be in our future and I don't need any other problem vehicles.   Won't go into all the details but, the wife really likes those two seater (hard top) convertibles.

Most of these articles above will say its not for the current car but that is not true. They are still experiencing problems.

I do like BMW but if I wanted a convertible European car it would be a Mercedes they seem to have less issues. Not an Audi, Jag or a BMW z4 or something along the lines with anything that has the older engines in them. You can do your own research and see. Used car prices are a good gauge, if the price is high more than likely it will be a good reliable car but if the value is low or drops fast from the from new you may have a problem.

cooldude  Thanks, we'll be doing some research for sure.  I already know of a Mercedes Benz 2 door hardtop convertible that I have asked for a first option to buy.   The owner isn't ready to let it go.   It's a beautiful car.   The driver/owner is a very nice person but, quick on the draw with smart assed remarks.   Evil   Ya never know what she's gonna do.   2funny

You don’t want to own a BMW past the warranty timeframe. Unless you do your own mechanic work and have an inside connection for parts, or deep pockets.

My deep pockets are due to the bottoms being ripped out from digging for change.

cooldude  Understood but, if you'd cash in all that paper money in your pocket, you wouldn't have to wear trousers with multiple pockets.  Wink
