      Anyone here taken apart the brake caliper(s) and cleaned the sliders? Do NOT Know if slider is the correct nomenclature. The rods protected by the rubber boots. According to what I was able to determine from the parts fiche and carfully raising the boots they do have hex ends on them and have separate part #s. After 145000+ miles they Are not now sliding. Anywho ant and all help Mucho Appreciado!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

Once you have them apart. Spray brake cleaner on a rag wipe them and use steel wool to smooth out any dings

I've done it many times. With the fiche picture, you'll
be able to do it no problem. I got new rubber bootie
stuff once, but that stuff seems pretty durable. There's
a kind of grease you can get in little packs (like ketchup
at the hamburger joint) at the auto parts store that
is specifically for greasing those pins...

     Okey Dokey thanks for the replies. Now I gotta figure out if I have the right grease or gotta purchase the correct stuff. RIDE SAFE.
