Well, there are two types of riders. Those that have been down, and those who haven't been down yet.
Well after 44 years of riding, I have joined the "been down" club.
Sunday morning I was out for a quick ride to warm the oil for a change. About a mile and a half from the house, (yep right in the zone) I was turning left and saw the car at the stop sign. Seconds later I saw the front end at my left. After impact I went over the handlebars (last thing a man my age and size wants to do is look at his feet and see the sky at the same time.) Landed about 15 feet away and tumbled another two or three rolls. Yes, I was wearing a helmet and my jacket with impact plates. Was out for a second or two. Don't remember feeling the impact with the ground, or it didn't hurt. Before i moved i asked a couple peoplethat stopped if i was bleeding anywhere and if my feet were pointing the right way. A guy said i looked ok. Wiggled toes and fingers. Rolled onto my shoulder to get up and began to feel the effects of impact. Decided to lay back down and wait for medics.
Head to toe x-rays and CT scan of head, neck and shoulders. Everything checked ok. I have a very tender left wrist, throbbing left hip and a swollen left foot. They also have me in concussion protocol and told Kathy what to watch for. I'm having trouble chosing words, and short term memory issues. I'm sure it will all be fine, but for now I've pulled in the sails for a bit and just rolling with the tide.

Glad you made it relatively unharmed.  I'm sure you'll feel worse before you start feeling better, but it could have been worse.  I hope your back to 100% quickly.  How bad is the bike?

I never enjoy reading these types of stories, but I'm glad you're still here to tell it to us.

Hope you heal up good and as close to 100% as possible.

44 years is a pretty good run. I became a member rather early. Glad you are ok. (Keep an eye on the concussion symptoms)

Damn, glad you are  relatively Okay. It's crazy out there, the risk is there every time we go out and I have been pushing my luck for far to long. When it happens I pray i'm riding solo.

PS, how's the bike, excuse for a new one?

You ought to see the front of her car! They were going to call for a front end loader to get me in the ambulance.

Thanks everyone. Yes, i feel very fortunate for many reasons,
Kathy wasn't with me,
Relatively low impact
Early Sunday, light traffic, not pinballed
Helmet and jacket with impact plates,
The best part, i had a crush on the girl that hit me in the 6th grade. We've known each other since school.
I told her girls usually wait til I ask them out before they try running me over.

The difference between you and Kathy is, I still have to chase Kathy.

So, I haven't seen the bike but Kathy took pictures. Crash bar is wrapped forward. Left floor board is bent up quite a bit. Fender is crooked on front fender. Exhaust on both sides dents and deep scratches. Handlebars are bent inward, clutch grip is bent away from bar. There is a spot of oil under it. Hopefully it's just the oil filter. (Front of engine)
I'm going to try and get over to see it tomorrow. Problem is Polaris stopped making Victories 7 years ago. Not sure what the parts supply is like.

Exact situation happened to me Monday.

I'm making a left turn and a woman in a SUV pulled up to the stop sign on my left, she was going right.

She did the quick look, didn't see me turning and started going.

I saw her moving and hit the brakes, just as she saw me and did the same.

Luckily, no contact, but close.

If she had keep going, she would have clipped the front tire.

She gave me the OMG look and I'm sorry gesture.

I rolled on with comment.

Glad your ok Wall, sounds like the bike wasn't as resilient as you.
