Probably been asked 1000 times before, but could someone review (in simple descriptive terms...like talking to a youngster) the procedure for changing the o ring on the intake manifold. Only one is leaking. Do I do all six?  Thanks, a man in Ohio

Yes, I would do all 6. The others will likely start to leak soon. I just do them one at a time. I’ve read where others will do the entire side at a time. Just unbolt the little bolts. 8mm I think. Loosen the hose clamp, and pull out the chrome manifold. When replacing I put a little touch of gasket sealer on the o-ring to hold it in place.

I have done mine and several other bikes. It’s easiest to unbolt all three intakes on one side and change those O-rings then do the other side. Use Viton o-rings size 123.

So once all six bolts are removed from one bank.  Loosen the top clamp then lift and pull outward and the intake is out. If it has a vacuum line attached pull it off and the you can change the o-ring. I use a dab of RTV to keep the o-ring in its groove replace and do the other two then bolt them down. Same on the other side.

I think Jeff meant Viton-O rings size 123. coolsmiley

I've never pulled the intake runners out to just change the o-rings. I do one side at a time but loosen the six small bolts on the side opposite the one I'm working on. That lets me lift to remove and replace the o-rings after removing the bolts on the side being worked on. I then snug them down and back off a tad to allow me to lift the other side enough to complete the operation. I also use either some grease or gasket sealer to hold them in place.

The easiest way I ever did it was when I was changing the air filter...
The tank was off. I took out a few bolts, causing the air filter box to
be unattached... a whole bunch less fighting with the rubber tubes
that connect the runners to the air box. And way less brutal on the
tubes, not having to yank the runners out like that or wedge them back
in...

If one is bad, the others aren't too far off. Mine where hard from cooking.

Look how flat mine where. Try to twist them, and they broke. No more sealing, not soft, but rigid.

If you have any kind of staining or wet spots, then you need new o-rings
