I still have a now very intermittant issue. On a 10 mile ride it died for 3 seconds of driving off (within two minutes of starting the bike.) However, that was after two hours of sitting. This last weekend, on a 250 mile ride it died for 2 seconds of driving off within two minutes of starting the bike at 125 miles out. It had been off for an hour. Multiple stops on the 250 mile ride, everything was great otherwise. I added a switched ground to pin 11 of the ECM on the handle bar trying to see if that circuit was the problem (schematic note says ground necessary to run.) The pin was grounded when the bike died both times.
I cancelled a trip to Deals Gap in three weeks as I can't be an anchor to my riding brothers.
Anyway, I am wanting to replace the IGNITION PULSE GENERATOR (30300-MZ0-003), but have only found two used ones on ebay that look suspect. Anybody have any ideas on where to find the 30300-MZ0-003 ?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. There is a larger Bike Salvage Yard (West 60 Cycle) and they had zero Valkyries. He said he never gets them as the owners like to hang on to them. He said a friend has one at 440,000 miles. I've had mine for 19 years and want to keep her running for many more...

I'm no mechanic, but I'd want to be pretty sure its this IGNITION PULSE GENERATOR (30300-MZ0-003), before I went hunting all over creation for one. I'd be the guy walking around tapping everything with a rubber mallet and shaking the wire harness. And using my wide variety of bad words (in several languages). What are you doing buddy?
Beats the heck out of me.One of my Interstates occasionally loses both headlights when running (usually right at startup). Reaching into the back of the faring and pushing on the plug connectors is difficult. It was in for a good service last year, and my expert tech said he cleaned all the connections up, and it stopped. It's back. Usually, one medium hard smack to the plastic covering the dual headlights pops them back on (all day). I'm good with smacking.

Thanks Jess. I just went and unplugged the Pulse Generator (first time doing), sprayed in Electronic Contact Cleaner, and re-connected. The contacts look fine, but I'll take her for a spin this weekend to see how she does.
P.S. I found a new Pulse Generator in Europe for only $360 plus freight. Naw, I'd do the used route first as this is just my latest guess at trying to find this gremlin....

I found the contacts on the ignition switch on my tourer to give me the same issues. Cleaned the contacts and haven’t had any issues since. Corrosion is the main cause of most electrical problems (usually the ground) Cleaning the contact points of grounds, switch contacts and plug connections will usually solve most problems.

Well (knock on wood), she seems to be back to normal. I did two final things; first i took all the stuff off my keyring, just the key now. Second, I cleaned the ignition pulse connector (under the triple tree, behind plastic removable panels) and all seems to be well. I've done six hundred miles over the last month and she hasn't missed a beat. I'm appreative of all of the suggestions over the last three frustrating years.
My shifter seal started leaking. New seal from stealer less than five bucks. Quick fix. As long as i was down there, I also installed a shifter buddy. I like it. Seems top be easier to find neutral.

Excessive keyring weight is common cause of failure on any vehicle. Having a Honda Ridgeline repaired with a switch issue which I know had too much keyring weight but I had no control of this as its inherited vehicle. These Valk switches have been known to fail.

Well she took a nip at me on a decent ride. About 45 miles out she died while riding and I quickly turned the ignition key off then on again. She kept running, but I turned and headed for home. She did it one more time and cycling the ignition had her running the remainder of trip home.
I ordered a used ignition switch and wanted to know if there I have to remove the tank, or can this be done without that pain?
Is there just one bolt (under front of switch) holding the ignition switch on?
TIA, Sparky

Ok, I got off my lazy a** and looked at the manual... Easy removal as the chrome cover pulls off and there are two bolts underneath.
Thanks, Sparky

Did you ever resolve this? my multimeter testing is leading me to believe I have bad pulse generators as I have the same issue. Everything else fuel and electrical tests good.

According to Honda , pulse generators do not fail. The last two I worked on had this failure. I picked up a used set from a friend for a 1500 and a new one for an 1800. I did not find any in the search , BUT , it is also used on the 1500 wings. I will refine my search. 1800 is different.

Thanks Prez. I'll do some more due diligence on the wing 1500 ones. But initial search also says they are all discontinued. But someone has to have some on a shelf somewhere.

I put pulse generators from a 99 Valk in a 88 GW 1500 Trike I built for my brother. The part # 30-300-MZO-003 is a fit all. I searched for them and mother Honda says not available.

Yep, same availability as MZ0 from Honda. But there are a ton more on the ebay than the valkyrie ones. I'm going to buy one just to test this theory. Though I believe you Prez.
