I found this bracket in one of the the side bags of the new to me 99 Valkyrie Interstate. It was just loose not attached to anything. Does anyone know what this is for and where it goes?

Looks like the bracket to hold the driver's seat on.  Do you have aftermarket seats?

Looks like the tool pouch bracket for an interstate.

No. I have OEM seats.

Oh okay! Where does that go? Under the seat I assume? Any pictures would be helpful.

Not sure where my bracket started out but it's in my left saddlebag bolted to the bottom holding the tools in place.

Yep, left saddlebag. If you don't want it, mine's missing!  Grin

Mine’s gone too. I had no idea those existed. My tools are under the seat like the tourer.

Left saddlebag, rear bottom mounting bolt, positioned on outside edge of bag.

Its the holder for the Honda Tool bag, it mounts in the left saddle bag.
It requires a rubber strap similar to the battery box hold down strap.

Okay. Looks like the bracket was floating around in the saddlebag because the bolt sheered. No sign of the rubber strap though.

I'm glad I rediscovered what that was.   cooldude

Years ago, I created a larger toolbag (zipper case) with my own tools, with the Honda tools thrown in.

I've had that bracket (I must have taken off) sitting up on a shelf for 10 years, and no idea what it was.

Unfortunately, there must be a dozen or so widgets, brackets and other parts there with it, and I don't know what any of them are (but I keep them in case I need them).  Grin
