Please see my post " Brasstown Bald Georgia / 386 beautiful miles " it has ( 9 ) photos in it. I resized every one of them here's my question ....Does it take the same amount of time for it to open a post no matter the number photos ? Somebody with dial up answer and let me know how I can post to help you out.

OK now check out Steamers post " Werner and Steamer...East Meets West... "  <----Is it better to do it that way ? Does it matter ? It's been years since I had dail up but I still remember it SUCKS . I know Highbinder and Normandog still have dial-up for the same reason they can't get high speed in the area they live in.

600/400 pixels to help them load faster for the dial-up folks...everytime I take my pics off my camera card, I make a copy of them and re-size THAT folder...I also lighten any pics that need it..and sometimes crop out the unwanted stuff or make an extra copy of a pic to use to get close-ups of ppl....At least I hope it helps folks out?

Joe,
I don't understand it and it's probably something I'm doing wrong but I only see one of your pics. It's Badmojo with the old car in the background. A little farther down is the pic of the Vmax. It took 3 minutes for those two pics to load through my dial-up connection.
Thanks,
Frye

First of all, THANK YOU for remembering us still living in the dark ages.  Smiley
I haven't timed it but it seems it takes longer for pics to download on this board.
However, in the posts with multiple pics I can scroll down and read the text long before the pics all come in. So if I'm in a hurry, I just read and move on to the next post without viewing all the pics.
Still don't think I've answered your question tho because I'm not sure how Steamer did it different. uglystupid2

Man, my PC must just not like it here. The pics you posted of this ride on the darkside board loaded fine for me although it did take a while.
Looks like it was a good ride.

As Normandog said, thanks for thinking of those of us who still have dialup. I haven’t found Steamers pics yet.

It isnt just the size of the pics that will hurt the slower folks. I understand, I got DSL 3 weeks ago at my cave.

A pic that is 640x480 will fit nicely on the board, however if the pics are 90K each, then it doesnt matter if they are 50X40, they will take a long time to load. The veiwing size matters, but not as much as the quality size.

I am still playing with photobucket trying to cut the quality. A 640X480 pic to be veiwed on the internet can be less than 25K and still be plenty clear for a monitor. So if you have photoshop or MS photo editor or a program like that you can save the pic as a JPEG 640x480 and at a med setting (photoshop) will be 20K or less and the quality is fine for the internet. You dont want to print from that copy or make it larger, just use it for posting and email.

However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.
