Alright, I didn’t want to post this until it was completely done, but I let the cat out of the bag a few weeks ago.  So, instead of high jacking someone else’s post I’ll post my own!  Sorry Momz.

This has been my winter project.  I initially planned on adding a lot more then what I’ve done so far, but I’m thinking on stopping while I’m ahead.

I got the idea years ago, but a friend of mine beat me to it with his Gold Wing.  He added over 300, 5mm LED’s on his bike, was on the cover of “Wing-Ding” magazine, and gets noticed were ever he goes.

A good buddy, nitrojunkie330, suggested I add some red LED’s to my braking lights ‘cause he said my tail lights weren’t noticeable enough.  I then figured I’d just add them everywhere like my gold wing buddy did.

Here are a few pictures.

I drilled each hole on the pin stripping so that they wouldn’t be noticeable when they’re not on.  Each LED is flush mounted with the surface of the body, and tends to take on the surrounding paint color.

Each LED is then glued into place, soldered, and wired with the appropriate resistor.  It isn’t pretty inside, but no one rides in the trunk anyways!!

I know that those southerners can’t comprehend the 6 months of staring at the thermometer wondering when it’s going to get above freezing again, so I had to keep myself busy!  Thankfully I have a heated shed.

I’m planning like crazy to make it to InZane this summer, hopefully I’ll have it all done then.

Here’s what she looks like in the dark.

Wow...  That looks very cool, and well done  cooldude

Where did ya pick up the led strips, or were they all individual?

Pretty cool..looks nice at night, maybe a carpet kit or something for the inside of your bags so nothing pulls on a wire, I went up to Cape Cod Mass years ago and this guy named Pacheco had a 1500 Wing with so many lights that he had mounted a aux alternator of the side of his right cylinder with a fan belt to run it, wish i could find the picks he used to go to Americade and light it up lol  cooldude

They’re all individual 2mm LED’s you can get them off of ebay;

I was able to take the trunk apart and mounted the lights inside the shell.  The saddle bags were a different story, I had to melt hot glue all over the lights to protect them.
I’m only pulling about 2amps more with all my lights on.  Don’t need an extra alternator.  My buddy has an extra battery on his cycle for when he does shows.  He can leave his lights on for three hours and not have to worry about getting a jump start.

I know a guy that lines the saddle bags.

No, I won’t be doing any of that!

Too gaudy.

There’s definitely a limit, those guys passed it a long time ago!

I have Kuryakyn lizard lights on my bike six chrome panels down each side with eight LED in each panel for a total of 96 lights you can adjusted from on to flashing at the speed you want. They attach with double sided body side molding tape and you can't even see them till I turn them on. Don't think I would drill my saddlebags full of holes but thats just me.The owner of the bike below likes lights also  Shocked
