Hitch id?
«

Hi all,
Not sure if anyone recognizes this hitch? I have it installed on my Interstate but have no idea about its capacity. The arms are bolted into the rear side trunk bolts and there are two slides that go into bottom bag crossover rail and are locked in place. Looking to tow a mini mate trailer which is about 360 pounds with a 40 pound tongue weight. Thanks for any info.

I do not remember the brand , but it is border line on capacity. Your bag brackets are holding it and the bags are rated at 40 pounds each.

Is that why the hitch docs are only rated for 40 pound tongue weight? Wasn't there someone who made a hitch rated to 65 # tongue weight?

That’s just way too much tongue weight. 65lb. Or even 45 lb is a lot. Not as horrible if you’re riding solo but my trailer feels happier back there with around 20lb

I agree. I would never want 45 lb. of tongue weight on mine. Coming downhill around corners would make for some adverse handling.
