My Friends,

I’ve been having issues where my bike won’t start.  Appears to be the battery EXCEPT, it charges very quickly and I’ve been able to get the bike started.  Today I went to start the bike - nothing and began clicking.  Pulled off the seat, charged it up - it took almost no time.  Put the seat back in place - tried to start it and it tried but after a couple tries - it appears to drain the battery.  Do you think it’s just a bad battery?   It’s only a couple years old, but this winter because I had knee replacement surgery, it sat for about 6 months.

Any thoughts

Mike

Pull your battery and take to a local parts store to have them do a draw down test.  More of these stores will test your battery for free.

Classic symptoms of weak battery.
Probably only holds a skim charge and may show 12.5V with voltmeter, but not enough of a deep charge to turn the motor over...

New battery time.

Hint - invest in a trickle charger. With one of these - I've gotten 6-7 YEARS out of a bike battery. Hookup the trickle charger when the bike is going to be sitting for awhile - mine goes on during winter storage and if it is going to be a while before the next ride.

There are some suggested accessories (direct on battery terminals / 25 feet extension cord) - Highly suggested !!!
