Just left the radiation doctors office.    I had prostate cancer early stages back in December or so and underwent 45 radiation treatments.    PSA is 2.0.  Doc says that is good and all is well.   Check again in 6 months…..YEAH!!!!!

Now if I'm not being too personal, are there any side effects you are dealing with?

Had to take Flowmax to pee after radiation but I am now off that and peeing strong again.   No side effects…..except my pee glows in the dark……just kidding

If you are asking if it ended my sex life….no….still good to go with little blue pills….but at 71 yrs old in August it was that way before the radiation treatments.

I wasn't thinking about sex; it was the peeing, pain, incontinence, or other physical issues.  Thanks for sharing.  (Prostate cancer killed my dad)

I will never forget the one time I took a blue pill.  I was able to hang my half helmet on my unit.

We both laughed hard on that one.    Smiley

I did have issues during the 45 radiation treatments in 9 weeks.   I was never in pain.   Only issue I had was in the last 3 weeks of radiation I progressively lost control of peeing.   The doctor told me this was going to happen but that after the treatments everything would go back to normal and it pretty much has.   So the last 2 weeks of radiation I had to wear an adult diaper.    I started regaining control as soon as the treatments stopped.    Those were the only issues I had.

To all you guys out there over 50 yrs old….. get your prostate exams regularly.   Early detection us the key.   I get checked every 6 months and did not have symptoms but my Urologist found the cancer when over time my bloodwork showed my PSA level slowly climbing and got over the number 4.0.    If you wait till you have symptoms its already in the advanced stages and is much less curable.   Symptons being pains in the crotch area or pee leakage without you knowing it.   Your prostate enlarges and starts pushing on your bladder causing leakage.   Im telling you that you need to get checked on a regular basis.    I think getting checked early saved my life.
