This report is pretend because Dave and I "trailered" our bikes to Inzane.  Inzane XXl  Athens, Ohio, was great.  We arrived Saturday afternoon and unloaded our bikes and did laundry.  Saturday was hot and muggy.  Sunday was better.  Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday were perfect.  University Inn is next to "Ohio's most haunted" place so we walked up and toured the insane asylum.  It was built in 1886 of red brick.  The place is huge and elaborate.  It was used for a while as a sanitarium for TB patients.  Death rate was so high that numbers were place on headstones instead of names and dates.  Sunday evening we did the Early Bird BBQ in the park, next to the inn.  Monday we did the 555 route of the Windy 9 with Tim from Palm Springs.  It mostly follows a ridge top through rolling hills with lots of curves.  Tuesday we went on the memorial ride for fallen brethren, toured a military museum, and then rode around a bit.  Tuesday night was the parade and Block Party.  Wednesday was the Joe Boyd Memorial ride on the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway.  They fed us lunch on the train.  It was lots of fun.  Motomamma's Charity Pie Auction was Wednesday evening.  Lots of money was raised for the Brain Injury Association of America.  I didn't get any pie. Cry  I did score a bag of pralines though.  Thursday, Dave and I combined a couple of the southern Windy 9 routes and did 180 miles of twisty backroads through farmland and along the muddy Ohio River.  We passed through several old towns and stopped at a dam with a lock to let boats through.  It was truly a great day of riding.  Thursday was the Award Dinner, with lots of raffle prizes.  A few items were auctioned off and I won an Athens Inzane welcome banner.  The dinner was wonderful.  It was great making new friends and seeing old friends again.  I had a great time.  Friday, Dave and I loaded back up and started back home.  We stopped at the AMA Hall of Fame Museum in Columbus, then had breakfast at Bob Evans.  We kept hearing about Bob Evans restaurants so we had to try it.  The food was excellent, a step up from Deny's or IHop with comparable prices.  I wish we had some out here.  I understand we had more than 300 registered attendees at Inzane

Thanks John, good report, thanks. We don't have any Bob Evans restaurants out here that I know of, but you can purchase Bob Evans products in the grocery store and a portion of the purchase price goes to Veterans. Glad you and Dave are back safe. BTW trailering at our age is no disgrace, Harley riders have been doing it forever, even before they get old. I also used to trailer my Goldwing and my Valkyrie on a custom built trailer behind my motorhome as my tow vehicle. Motorhome camping or I guess it might be called Glamping combined with touring on the motorcycle is a great way to see the country and have great fun doing it especially with my girlfriend, and our yorkie. We put the Yorkie in a doggie infant carrier that I carried as a backpack as the three of us toured around a lot of the western U.S. ......rick

Glad you guys had a good time. Trailering was a great idea, it's a long slog to most of the eastern Inzanes.

The eastern half of the country does seem to get further and further away as we get wiser (older).
