Me and Troutdude worked on Rams bike a few weeks ago. Installed more exhaust on his being both sides was broke loose buy the header on both sides. We figured maybe someone had jacked it up with the mufflers. Now present week. I kept noticing mine keep getting louder on the right side. Well found me a set of IS pipes and when I took my right side off it was broke at the collector same place as Rams was. Looked at the left side and it had been welded where it had broke. Bad design by motor trike using a bracket you have to pull the muffler down a good 1 1/2 inches and to me that is too much tension on the pipes. In the process of redoing mine so I can use the OEM hanger brackets. Cut the pipe just behind the front baffles and right before the rear baffles. Welded me 4" x 2" reducers and added 2 inch pipe in it. Pipe is around 13 inches long and makes a slight s bend in the pipe so it will miss the rear axle and not hit. Tried it out today with just a fit and cranked it up and sounds just like stock exhaust. Will tack weld it tomorrow and pull out for full welding on it. I will post some pictures tomorrow. I didn't take any pictures of my pipes before adding the reducers. I will give some measurements tomorrow with the pictures. I might have to add a hanger on the rear for some more support. In all very pleased with my mod and took the tension off the exhaust pipe.

my motortrike exhaust was only pulled down 1/2 inch. not sure why you and rams was pulled down that far. the clearance between the exhaust and the rear was probably 1/4 inch.

Whenever you start adding more air to the air bags the closer the exhaust gets to the rear axle. Mine had been broke on the left side and I guess other owner had it welded. The right side just broke. Rams was broke on both sides. I got it fixed now now and well pleased with the outcome. It might not have been a 1 1/2 maybe a inch. But still a lot of bind on the exhaust. If they did a so so job on welding the pipes on the collector at the manufacturer is where it is breaking at. Now I'm not worried about it.
