The new spots came today.  WOW, are they the cats meow!!!!!  (are we allowed to say that in here? lol)  ok they are halogens and only 25 W but way brighter than the 55W sealed beams I had before and a whole lot sexier.  Its a slow process getting the wires all tied back in place especially when youre down a thumb, but Im not able to ride yet, so I have time.  These are cool lights though

They ARE cool lights.  And they seem to match the headlight real well!  It looks like the spots are just small headlights.

How are the part's feeling, alos, how's Judi and your friend? And how did the estimate and insurance work out?

Im still in negotiations with the insurance.  Looks like I will do alright.  Judy's hand has to have a broken bone in it, she finally realizes she has to NOT USE IT AT ALL if she wants it to quit hurting.  My a$$ is still 15 colors and lumpy like Im trying to store a grapefruit in there for the spring...My HD friend is feeling the best off all lost teh crutches and is getting around ok.....but we are thankful we have all the bits we were born with even if they are different colors now, and I cant even tell you some of the bits that are different colors now.  But so that this doesnt become a "hijack"...over on the tech side they wanted a front pic of the new lights, so here it is for those of you that dont frequent that.

That is a Cobra lightbar that unfortunately is no longer manufactured for the Valkyrie.  You will find them on ebay and the VRCC classifieds from time to time, but they have become a bit pricey.

Yes, they are costly if you find a good one.  Brown came again today.....Cobra master cylinder covers (pic when handlebars are done) and hiway pegs, the new kury longhorn ones.....very cool locking mount.  and the new kury flame grips and throttle boss......cant wait cant wait cant wait to ride.....just a few more parts and little more healing.

I just took the windshield apart.  Honda OEM shield, I cleaned (for reuse) all the rubber pads.  They wanted lots of $$ for them and its not like they wear out.  But in the process of taking the chrome off, MAN was there a build-up of unsightly dirt under the chrome.  I think my bike will gain a HP from all the hidden dirt I have been finding because of removing things like crash bars and windshield and seeing things you normally cant see.

Well, Im done working until the HDL shippment gets here.  Should be sometime next week as I got three email notifications yesterday (one for each box)  cant wait cant wait cant wait

Boy is she clean and shiney around all the guages and behind the headlight now........with new glass we are talking sparkly!

Yes, your adviced helped, as I had the Honda shop NOT pull any punches and as it turned out they came up with an estimate that is double the allowable amount before having to be totalled.

We may have to go that route and that will mean more money for me but a salvaged title and Im not as afraid to go through that if need be after talking to you.

I offered to accept 50% of the Honda estimate which comes in just under the allowable max but more than I needed to spend...(all the parts are bought and on their way to me already)

So either way it will be resolved and my bike will be beautiful again very soon.......just wish this old bod would heal faster,,,,,LOL

The Insurance people took my offer.......I finally convinced them that the Honda Dealer is essentially doubling all their cost.  At 50% of the Honda estimate, thats right at 75% of bike value which is the most they can pay and it is what the check will be for..........found out today.  That will cover every single part and little more to boot.   cooldude

Happy Camper here! well as soon as the swelling goes down........ ???

Hello Jeff, this is Doug over in Mossy Head.  I haven't been on the site in a couple months until today and I'm horrified!  Will search on the message board for more details but I'm afraid...very afraid!!!  My best to Julie.
