Any thoughts or experience  on a handlebar mounted windshield? Looking to put a windshield on my tourer with out breaking the bank. My previous bike had a o.e.m. windshield that worked great, this bike has nothing and I miss the wind protection at the higher speeds.

I had(still have) a national cycle sheild before I put a fairing on it. Gave me good protection.

If you have a Tourer, it should have had a shield. Do you still have the small mounts on the triple tree. If so, get back with me.

I used two sets of Memphis Shades handlebar clamps
and mounted a 2014 Valkyrie OEM windshield to my 1500
Valkyrie handlbars.

Maybe I have a standard, how do I know for sure? It had some flimsy, bent up brackets on the fork tubes between the triple trees. Did not even look close to what was on my first Valkyrie which I believe was o.e.m., Thanks for the input and  help. Update, looked at the NY title and the model code is GLC. Guess I answered my own question. The bag mounts look like Leatherlyke mounts, I did not get them when I got the bike.

Look on the front forks, for the VIN and model.

I would compare to info on Dag's site, or ask here. I know the GL1500C, CT and CF, but sometimes there is other info there too.

Besides checking the VIN (if you have access to vin info on builds), wasn't there a quick and easy distinction between Tourer and Std having different (or differently placed) reflectors on the back, because of the bags?

On Stds, they are over the fender struts, and on Tourers (and interstates) they are on the bags.  Course they can be moved (or removed).

Tourers have brackets for the windshield. The windshield is off in the pics below.

My reflectors are above the fender struts and it did not have that style windshield mounts. I believe it is a standard model.  After carful inspection of the curled up sticker on the steering neck, I saw GL1500C. I guess I should have looked fo the obvious first!

Both the standard and tour models go for nearly the same pricing..so I always buy the tour models.
I've been buying up spare parts for years.
Keep looking..youll find the mounts on eBay eventually.
I BUY Clearview replacement wind screens.
Riding the valk naked feels really strange after riding with over sized windshield for 20 years.
