Man this just came up on my local gun board and is 30 minutes away.

I do not need it, but man I'd sure like to have it (a smoke wagon of the finest sort).

.44 Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley, Lipsey exclusive   https://lipseys.com/itemdetail?itemno=RUKRBS-43N

If it wasn't $500 over MSRP, I don't think I could help myself.   tickedoff

It will handle any .44 ammo extant including Buffalo Bore +P+ 340grain hardcast.

In case a grizzly or moose gets in my backyard.

"Needing" it has nothing to do with, you "have" to have it!

I didn’t need the BLR either. Sure is a lot of fun to shoot though.

Life is short. And those Grizzlies can sneak up on you out of nowhere at any time.  It would be irresponsible for you to not get it.

@Jess: let's check the features:

a) Stainless Steel? check!
b) Reputable manufacturer? check!
c) Beautiful lines? check!
d) Handles any load? check!
e) Powerful and flexible caliber? check!

You are in a bad place...
 Grin

I definitely can see the appeal. I personally have a Super Red Hawk with a scope, it is a joy to shoot and I could see hunting carrying only the revolver (not to mention it pairs nicely with a Marlin 1894 SBL).

ps: 340gr +P+ Magnum 44... damn, that thing must hit like a freight train!

I already have the 7.5" Redhawk with scope, and the Marlin 1894.  And a 7.5" Super Blackhawk (3-screw).

The way this works (discipline) is; you let it sit on the board and see if someone gives him what he's asking (and it disappears from the Board).  If in a week or two it falls back to page 3 or 4, and stays up unpurchased, you email him with a counteroffer.

For something I don't need (at all), I won't overpay.

I'm just going by what they were selling for when first out, and they are till up on the Lipseys site for $900.

He may have paid what he's asking for it, I dunno.

LOL. Small !?

I know you like the big stuff. I have/had 2 .44s. I shot each one once or twice [ Blackhawk and Super Redhawk]  and put them away. .357 is about my limit. I'm a wuss.

Nice shot Jess

I just find them on line and post them.

I should not have started this thread.  It just keeps me thinking about it.

Here's a 30yo impulse buy.

You don't cok these before dropping them in your front pocket.   Grin  (half cok is good)

That’s gotta sting a bit when you pop off a 44 magnum in a pea shooter.  Wow!

Indeed, top defensive 240gr JHP makes it painful, and a chore just to hold on to, esp because you only get a two finger grip, and a second hand isn't all that helpful.  When I actually carried it, I used to load a number 12 birdshot to go first, and a big JHP to go 2d.  The birdshot is a breeze to shoot (but will spread from face to toes in not much distance).  Later, I got a box of top defensive .44 Specials for it; a good compromise.  Accuracy is not it's strong suit, so it doesn't get carried anymore.

Still, it's better than a folding knife and bad language.   Smiley

That's a nice piece for sure. I have a Blackhawk and a Super Redhawk. It would be a want, not a need for me. I have been struggling to balance my wants and needs. Undecided

Also have that same derringer, I would much rather throw it at someone than shoot it.

I have a little derringer also and am tending more to carry it. Its easy. But, I might add, mine isn't a .44.

A derringer is fine for a straight up close face/chest shot, but if there are any non combatants around (at all), you must be very careful, or walk up closer (also not good).

Remember the Duke in The Shootist opening scene?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JqZyBlgmpw

The derringer is just right for the ... here's my wallet move.  But not a lot else.

If it ever comes to me having to jerk a trigger I think the gun will stop against some flesh/clothing before my arm has straightened out.
