I just spoke with Carol at the Days Inn and she could only reserve 9 rooms but stated that as of now the hotel is only 1/2 booked so if more than the first 9 call and reserve then the rest will be able to get the group rate of $178 (taxes included)  for both nights (September 24th & 25th)

In order to reserve for this event contact them at  1-706-801-4051 and press 3 to speak with a person at the front desk.
Give them my last name of "LUTTRELL" in order to receive the 15% discounted rate.

I already reserved our room so there are 8 definite rooms left so if you plan on going for sure,  I would call and reserve your room ASAP. They will take your credit card info but will not charge your card until our actual stay. If for any reason you should need to cancel your reservation,  do so at least 1 week prior to September 24th.

Once you have reserved your rooms, would you please respond to this post as "reserved" and if you're a single rider or a couple?  I will use these numbers to make our dinner reservations at the nearby  Mexican restaurant.

Thanks and hope to see more than 8 of y'all there!

May be two but, can't promise that at this point.
Make that two committed and maybe a third.

Wow, I should bring mine...........  1988 Pontiac Fiero, 3800 Supercharged V6, 5 speed manual, it's like driving a go cart on steroids.   smitten
I said should, unlikely though.

Hopefully you can make it.  Need to reserve your room once you find out for sure.  They are 1/2 full already on that weekend.  Give them my last name "LUTTRELL" when you can in order to get a 15% discount

Jason,
I'm curious, do you have a back up hotel close by just in case.   I'm also active in the Fiero community and The GA Fiero Club holds an event called Run For The Hills, this is their 26th year.   They'll only be at that hotel Friday night but, there will be a bunch of them and I'm afraid this group will get squeezed out if Valkyrie folks don't get their reservations for this hotel in.

Made my reservations yesterday . I've stayed at this motel a dozen times or more over the years. Haji is letting it get rundown somewhat but its still decent I was there about three weeks ago on a ride. Mexican restaurant in the same building quickie market across the street liquor store across the four lane.

Itinerary as follows:
arrive  that Friday and hang out, kick tires, tell good stories and lies, then get dinner either as a group or individuals.

Then on saturday morning get up, grab yourselves some breakfast and plan on a KSU around 0930-0945 ride (planned route is 120 miles)  with a planned lunch stop at TWO (two wheels only) Lodge and restaurant in Suches, Ga. and then back on the road to finish the ride ending back at the hotel.
I will make a reservation for all of us at a Mexican Restaurant that's within walking distance from the hotel. This will be done once i get a final head count.  We should be back in time from the group ride if some want to ride more.  If so another great ride would be to go up to The Great Smokey Mtns National Park which is only 55 miles north from the hotel.  The ride from the beginning of the park up to pigeon forge is nearly 60 miles (i believe) but many great turns and tunnels along this route.

Then on Sunday morning we'll pack it up and some of us are taking a few extra days to ride the Blue Ridge Pkwy up into Virginia and all are welcomed.  Plan on being in Va at the end of the pkwy by Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the weather and stops that are made.

I think amber and i may then ride Skyline Dr on up into DC to visit my oldest son daughter in law, and grandson for one day then head back to Ga on Thursday of Friday.

Its getting closer!  Amber and I are ready to hit the road.  A few of us are leaving that Sunday morning and getting on the Blue Ridge Pkwy in Cherokee and riding it to the end in Va. Then me and Amber, Critter (James Sullivan)  and one other are likely to continue north on Skyline Dr.  Amber and I plan on ending up in DC (Woodbridge, VA) at the end of September or first of October to visit with our youngest son and grandson.  The plan is to rest up there for a couple of days and then head back south and drop in on the Wilder's in Wendell, NC for some lemonade pie (hint for David to pass along to miss Laura) and to rest our bones for a night.
We'll eventually make it back home to Dallas, Ga just as soon as we get home!  No real time-line and we have heated jackets so we're ready to enjoy the sights that this wonderful country has to offer!

I have been following that and it does look great.  It's only because i spent 600 bucks on heated jacket liners for amber and i. BUT we are leaving sunday morning along with a few others and jumping on the Blue Ridge Pkwy in Cherokee and riding the whole thing.  So maybe we'll get to use the jacket liners up in them thar hills!. Plan on ending up in DC before heading back home

And at altitude.  Wink

Cooler temps landed in Hattiesburg this morning.  My Spousal Unit is running around in a flannel shirt and her flannel PJs.   Honestly, I laughed at her.   When we lived in northern Ohio, those never came out until we got below freezing temps now, when it gets to 60* she's cold.   2funny
Me, I'm still wearing a tee shirt and shorts.   Never said it was a pretty picture.  Wink
