a/k/a Stuffy. '99 I/S Valk Roadsmith Trike

De Pere, WI (Green Bay)

« on: July 13, 2021, 05:30:33 PM »

Recently I ordered two different size(length) of speed bleeders and some power diodes to install on the trike. Those will be used to make the hazard lights work without the key on, all has to do with the wiring changes made for the trike conversion. What gets under my rather thin skin is I'll get notification of "your order is being shipped" and will include a tracking number, but a day or so later I look on the USPS tracking or UPS tracking sites and often see the notification preceeds the actual shipment by as much as three days. I called one outfit and got hold of the person that does the shipping, asking why do they bother telling me it's shipped when it's still in-house. Told him that not only isn't honest but it also makes it difficult to plan a day to work on the bike. Unsurprisingly he got pissed and...unsurprisingly I didn't care if he was. I suggested he be straightforward about it...that lit his fuse.  Grin  Told me if I didn't like how he handled it I could talk to the general manager. I did! One order was overnighted as a result. I told the mgr. what we as customers see and how it makes them, the vendor, look. He indicated he wasn't aware that was happening. Well bub...now you know, although probably won't change anything.

One last amusing item happened in the Walmart pkg. lot yesterday. I pulled in on the trike and a guy on his loud HD pulled into the opposing facing lane, I never knew you had to gun the motor 2-3 times in order to shut it off.  Wink An older gent was sitting in his truck next to me taking a snooze, probably waiting on mama to get done buying out the store. He sat bolt upright at the noise and muttered something under his breath, meanwhile the other rider asked that overused question; "why ain't you riding a Harley?" You know my standard answer; "just lucky I guess." His comment; "that's a stupid answer." The older gent in the pickup retorted; "that's a stupid question." The HD dude started towards the truck and the older gent stepped out, pulled back his shirttail showing his badge hanging from the belt, then asked; "is there a problem or are you wanting to admire this beautiful QUIET trike?" The rider stopped, looked, got back on his bike and rode off. I chatted with the pickup driver for a few minutes then went shopping. Nice guy, stupid rider. Personally I don't care what you ride, never have. But why do many of them feel it necessary to wake the dead with the "loud pipes save lives" myth. The sound follows you...not preceed.

Or.... when they start making water cooled flat six cylinder engines, I'll give them a look.  When do you think that might be?

On shipping:  It's one thing to get an email confirming your (just completed) order.  It's another thing to get a notice of shipping..... but they haven't shipped anything (and don't for days).

And sometimes you can track your order by logging on, and other times they want you to register (I don't register).

That engine revving nonsense is like the new gorilla in the pack. He has to beat his chest to announce his arrival. “Look at me. I’m so cool”

The other day we are out riding and I start catching up to a Harley so I slow down. My wife says why are you slowing down? If I get too close it’ll be loud and obnoxious and then I’ll have to pass. She says so don’t catch up, just fly right by and they won’t even notice. We like quite.

Slow shipping was blamed on the kung flu, but, it seems to have gotten much worse lately. And here I thought the pandemic was over. I'm still waiting on an order I placed a month ago.

When you order something a shipping label is created, and that info goes to UPS, USPS or whoever, and a tracking # is now available for you to see, even tho the product you ordered hasn’t even been pulled off the shelf, just the way it is, some will email you ( RMATVC) when it actually ships, others not so.

Yes, I know all that. I have the ability to print shipping labels including postage here at home, but it's only good until 12:00 midnight that day. These clowns often create the label and as stated...2-3 days later it hits the post office. Thing is, most will admit to doing it. It makes them look good to Ebay...shows fast shipping which just isn't true.

Far as that shippingthingy goes I had a problem with gittin something from The-tada-V A! Long short usps showed it as being delivered. Well I NEVER saw it. FIRST time I'd Not gotten a scrip from the V A. Poplar Bluff Mo. is where All my Scrips come from. V A said it was mailed gave me the tracking # and usps said it was delivered. W T H Over? Orderd another scrip and after I got the tracking # the usps web site showed it was out for delivery the 12th of July BUT I actually Finally got it the 13th! So as a puredeeazz Guess figurin the usps has got some blame here. Glad the few parts I need for Phatt Ghurl have arrived and the rest will be pulled from my stock. Anywho yet anudder sad tale amongst many sad tales! RIDE SAFE.

I HATE inaccurate notices, but Amazon is usually spot on - lately they have been giving a date - then they send an update that it will be a day sooner Smiley .

Been pretty lucky recently with mail orders.  They have been on time or early.  About half of our mail orders are thru Amazon.

Now if the gasoline will continue to get to our town all will be good.  Have had two times in the last month when our tanks a the stations were getting low.

IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL YOUR ORDER AS WE HAVE SHIPPED IT TOMORROW! crazy2 2funny uglystupid2
Talk about a lost order , Home Depot lost our washer ,drier and stove. It took almost three weeks to find them.  We had a guaranteed delivery date of the 29th of last month.
