UPDATE!!!!
To date, 15 of the rooms are booked. This includes the unfortunate cancellations of several folks, who will definitely be missed.
We now have the room rates as follows...
One Queen... $100
One King... $105
Two Doubles... $110
Two  Queens... $115
CDN $$
That leaves 8 rooms left available for our group, so if anyone hasn't booked yet or knows of someone else who would like to attend, let's try to fill the place up.
For any first time attendees, the schedule of events listed below in the previous  post is just a general idea... it may be altered depending on the number of attendees. There are a few traditions that will take place regardless, but otherwise Valhalla is more or less a very casual meetup of good friends old and new and loosely planned rides through the BC Boundary and Kootenay regions.

Previous Post
Johnny's Motel in Grand Forks BC has all rooms blocked off for our 2021 Valhalla Rally September 9 - 12 in Grand Forks BC. You can now call and book your room @ 250-442-8242.  Book under "Valhalla Rally - Valkyrie Riders". Rates are not set yet, but will be similar to past years and should be posted up here later this week, or you can ask when booking. Good deal for us Canadians...Better deal for our American friends with their fancy US $. Wink

7291 Hwy 3 E.
Grand Forks B.C.
Box 876, V0H 1H0

There are 25 rooms of varying configurations, you can check them out @ http://www.johnnysmotel.ca/

We will be checking with Johnny's over the next couple of months to see how many reservations have been made, and if an overflow option may be required. There are a couple of similar motels in the immediate area if this is the case, and we will post them up at a later date.

For those that haven't been, Johnny's is a nice clean motel with a large parking lot off the highway and all rooms back on to the Granby River. There's a nice grass area with picnic tables in the back, where we can have a BBQ, etc. The motel is at the East end of town, off the main Highway #3. The town of Grand Forks is a nice small town with lots of places to eat, grab a refreshment, whatever...and is a staging point for some of the finest riding BC has to offer.

Schedule of Events will be as follows:
THURSDAY... arrive late afternoonn or evening. Meet & Greet in parking lot
... ride into town for supper and/or to pick up a few groceries and other "necessities" Grin

FRIDAY... grab breakfast and ride.
... arrive back at hotel in time for Supper
... Show & Shine Bike Show
... Firepit, Fireball, initiation of new attendees, lots of BS & fun

SATURDAY... grab breakfast and ride
... arrive back at hotel in time for Supper. If the BBQ's are available, we will pick up fixin's
... Firepit, Fireball, awards, lots of BS & fun, traditional gift exchange. Bring a gift ($15 max) to participate
                 * *Hawaiian Shirts are all the rage for Saturday Night!!**

SUNDAY ... grab breakfast & head for home

NOTES: It appears as if there's a decent likehood that the border will be open for "non-essential" travel (that would include old (or young) guys & gals riding Valkyries, F6B's, Wings, etc.) by the end of August or earlier. If it is, there may be a requirement  that proof of Co*** vaccination will be required to cross, so that should be checked. For our American friends, there will be plenty of time to cancel your reservation if for whatever reason the "powers that be" decide to prolong the closure...hopefully that won't be the case and we can all have a grand old time in Grand Forks cooldude

Whatever it is, it's better in the wind.

On a road less traveled.

I’m afraid we are having to cancel our plans for this ride. Some unforeseen family issues have arisen. I was really looking forward to finally making this ride.  Angry

We are out as well, scheduling conflict, can’t figure out how to be in two places at the same time. We were looking forward to seeing you all once again.

With less than 2 weeks to go to Sept 9th, and the run to Grand Forks for the annual Valhalla Rally, I thought we should post something, like who's going?

Unknown - Tess is healing nicely from her planned surgery, and unsure if she will be able to travel, or even if I'll be able to leave her at home for 4 days.

If I can't make it, does someone wish to pick up my trailer and the fire pit/propane tank for the Rally?

Lisa and I still plan on going on the 9th. We are on grandbaby watch though...our 2nd granddaughter is due on the 5th in Lake Country, so we'll see how all that works out...it's only a couple hours away so that's good.
Not sure about our American friends ...apparently they have to pay a somewhat hefty fee to get the required test before crossing the border, so that may make some of them reconsider.
Regardless of who shows up, I think it will be pretty casual...no organized events like the past few years, just hang out at Johnny's and go for rides and stuff. Can still do the gift exchange, but if only a few show up that probably won't take place either. Still a good opportunity to get a nice ride to Grand Forks in though, and do some riding into the Kootenays3rd with whoever is there.

Man, I really thought this was the year I was going to do it. When my son caused some family drama, I was pissed ! But with karma being what it is, we wouldn’t have been able to go anyways. Brenda’s Dad just got out of the hospital after a stroke. I hope you guys have a great get together !

72 Hour prior Pcr Covid test $150 U.S. times 2 plus 72 hour antigen test to get home times 2 $125 Canadian. Plus we have to put it all in Arrive Canada,  and that's if you are fully vaccinated.

Sorry folks, just got back from Montreal and went through this whole routine. The granddaughter is growing like a weed by the way. We are going to bow out on this event.

Hopefully, it will get better and easier next year.

Thanks for the hard numbers Madawg, I was just being told the same thing over the weekend.

We are suspecting that we won't be getting any out of country visitors this year, and as Mike said, it will be a little lite on attendees.

Hi all....I've been absent for a few years but back again....so kinda new here again.... This may be a silly question but what exactly is Valhalla? I get that it's some kind of get together/rally....in Grand Forks BC? Is anyone welcome to join?

Hey Andy...for the past 12 years or so, groups of Valkyrie riders primarilly from BC, Eastern WA, Western WA along with a few riders from AB, SK now and then and more recently a group from Southern ID have gathered once a year in a town either in BC or in WA for an annual meetup/ride. It moves around between locations. Over the years many of us have become great friends, with newer attendees joining in and becoming "regulars"  and ultimatly friends as well....which has spawned additional get- togethers during the year every now and then. New attendees are always welcome to be part of what is a really great and much anticipated event. The first meetup was held at the Valhalla Inn in New Denver BC, hence the name, and reference to regular attendees by some as "Valhalla riders". Just good folks having a good time riding and sharing stories and such around a fire in the evenings at the chosen location (usually a smaller "Mom & Pop" motel with a large parking lot or space for gathering). If you scroll back on this page, you can view posts with photos from past years. Keep an eye on this page come next Spring when details for 2022 will be posted...always look forward to meeting new folks at this event cooldude

Cheers, Mike
