My headlights are lighting up tree limbs.
I have looked online to find out how to correct this but have not found a workable solution yet.
I keep seeing that there are supposed to be two 8mm adjusters on the back side of the bucket, but danged if I can find these on mine.
Anyone have tips/instructions and pics?
Thanks everyone

Chuck, it helps if we know if you have a standard or interstate.

This picture makes me think you're talking about Interstate adjusters....

1997 standard

Your adjustment screws are in the front of the Chrome ring around the headlight sort of on the sides at five and seven o’clock. One is for left/right and one is for up/down. Stick a phillips screwdriver in the hole and find the screw. A flashlight may help at first till you know where you’re aiming.

Method I found years ago that has worked for me over time. Hold the bike upright, have a helper measure from the middle of the headlight lens to the floor. Then go mark a wall such as the garage door using that same measurement. Turn on the headlight and adjust up/down...left/right to agree with the mark on the wall. Again, you'll need a helper to either hold the bike upright or do the adjusting.

Edit: I forgot to add, you need to be approx. 17' from the wall/garage door when checking or making an adjustment.

There may be an issue with the mechanism.
No matter which way I turn it or how much I turn the screws, I get no movement.
But thank you all for your replies!

The movements aren't huge, you might do better toward evening so you can see the light beam shining against a wall. Easier to see a change then.

That is a possibility.  if someone turned it all the way counter clockwise far enough the screw will come out of the nut or housing.  I don't recall which set up the Valkyrie has.  In either  case  you will need to remove the chrome ring and put the screw back in the correct position.

I just mark the wall or door to the center of the light and set the aim to 2' lower at 25 ft.

I want to adjust mine, but I'm not sure I have 25 ft. of flat to do it on...  Roll Eyes ...
