Livin' the Valk, er, F6B life in Central Florida.

Silver Springs, Florida

« on: January 09, 2010, 06:14:46 AM »

Here are a few pics from this mornings sleet/snow event in Florida. I know it's nothing to you poor folks that live in the Godforsaken north but this just don't happen around these parts very often. We are at latitude 29.10, this just aint right! Shocked

Kim picked this "sleetball" off of the blanket covering our Robelini palm tree in front of our house.

Our son's Mustang dusted pretty good with ice.

The bed of my Ranger.

Wood deck near the pool.

Ice covered roof. It's normally dark brown.  ???

It's after 9:00 am and it's still there. We went to breakfast & the roads are not frozen or anything but it's white everywhere. The ice didn't move off the car. Sheeeesh!
Thank God I hear it will be back in the mid 70's next weekend!   cooldude

We can send you some more if you would like. LOL. Up here in NE Indiana we got about 6 inches on Thursday. We got off easy compared to others farther north and west. I talked to BigD in upstate NY lastnight. He said they got a couple of feet.....Stay warm Traveler and get some miles in for us frozen northerners.....

Here's the radar at 9:30 am. We are just east of the "OCF" point. I hope this works.

Looks like that Flamingo in your backyard is frozen stiff.  2funny  You all have to understand Eddie, he pulls out his artic gear when the temps fall below 70. He does get his share of ribbing on that, but it's all in fun.

Stay warm bud, spring is just around the corner.  Wink  All we got in our area is some cold rain, but I understand early this morning some areas had sleet and a bit of the flakes. Still pretty chilly for central Fla., but nothing like my home state of Iowa where it gets butt deep to a tall giraffe.

I'm on the coast below the "CEW" in the Panhandle.  It's either been raining or temps in the 20's and 30's or both (usually both lately) for the last month and a half.....at least.  I think I've only riden the Valk maybe once or twice in all that time.

I'm ready for some warmer temps fer sure.

Grin Most of us have lived with snow all of our lives in Minnesota, we will have our bikes out the end of March first part of April.  we have learned how to deal with it.  we have the equipment to clear roads and airports and such, we just keep on going.  I can sure feel for you guys down south, you don't get it every year and maybe only a few times in your lives. I guess just enjoy it, wont be around long. T.P.
