Took my new to me '09 BMW K1300GT for a ride over to Louisville, TN from Crossville. Traveled 70 down Rockwood mountain which has a few nice sweeping curves on super smooth pavement. I have to say this is the most amazing bike I have ever been on. Just flicks around turns, making me seem like an expert. The ride is great, but the power is crotch rocket like  - 160 H.P.! and 200 lbs. lighter than the Valk.
Very tourquey, not at low rpm as the Valk, but it stays at higher rpm even in high gear. Much like the Valk, you keep looking for one more gear.
Rolls on out of the turns in high gear, no need for down shifting going in, because this thing feels like it has a jake brake! Took me a while to figure out what was going on when you back out of the throttle, then it occurred to me why I didn't have to brake or down shift going in to the turns. 13 to 1 compression and premium fuel mandatory. Lots to learn about this ride, but I don't see anything made out there that compares to the capabilities of this bike.

Variety is the spice of life! I daydreamed about one of the 1600’s but every time I think about BMW I consider maintenance issues and back away.

I started my own business in 1992, I haven't had 5 days in a row for anything since. A long weekend maybe, but I can't sit in or on anything very long. Never made much money, but made a lot of friends Lips Sealed
It did come with a heated Russel Day Long saddle built for the P.O. but not for me. I put the oem seat back on.
Oh, did I mention it has power windows, ABS, cruise, heated seats F&R, GPS, heated grips...

or fjr1300.   both the kawi and fjr would keep up just fine with that beamer.   I tried a kawi and if not near 6 feet tall with seat is sorta tall in the saddle for me few inches shorter.

I wasn't looking for anything when I bought this bike at an estate auction on the cheap. The poor chap that owned it passed away on New Years eve 2020. I found records for up to date maintenance, unknown to me at the time I bought it.
He was a m/c mechanic and vintage MX racer and restoration expert. There was 6 fully restored vintage mx bikes sold and a ton of parts, all new or nos at the same sale.

I am impressed with this machine. It compares performance wise with the Kawasaki Concours.  This is a 12 yr. old bike so I checked with the BMW dealer near Knoxville if any recalls on this model were available and they informed me by the VIN that a possible defect had been found on the flange of the fuel pump and a replacement would be ordered and installed by appointment for free on the recall.
