c19 and my local V A

       I was scheduled for my 2nd poke Wed 8/11/2021. Phone rings around 13:35 and it Is my local V A and a Nurse that has seen me before. How soon can I come down there-1/2 hr or a bit more-and can I show up Now stead of the 11th? Yuppers-on my way. They had an open vial-Moderna-they Did NOT wanna waste so Supposedly I'm good ta go now with the 2nd poke. And I also have a square piece of heavy white paper or light weight cardboard that now resides next to my just arrived new drivers license. Thinkin IF the stupidity gits this far south may need that card just to do every day "stuff" shop eat buy gasoline etc etc!  Anywho gittin All the Arm pokes done they can I guess!  RIDE SAFE.

Funny how quickly things change, back in January on the day I got my first Moderna my father in law crashed the vaccination clinic at his local VA and basically said he wasn't leaving until they stuck something in his arm. (He can be a wee bit on the pushy side, to say the least...)

I had offers to pay me a substantial amount of money for the hookup for the "honey hole" I'd found where many people were able to get their vaccines early on. I never took the money, but I did refer a lot of people there, including several VRCC members.

Now they're practically begging people to go get shots...

Suggestion - If you have a scanner scan your card, if not at least take pics of front and back with your phone and keep the original in a safe place. Maybe even get it photocopied.

Hope it doesn't come down to "Your Papers Comrade!" but if it does better to have backups...

just remember takes 2 full weeks to be at that 94% effective after 2nd shot so lay low or at least do not go out all over around people as much next 2 weeks.

Several places of business in Portland, OR. are saying if you want to come show us your vac card.  So far here in the southern part no business have started that.
