Do these hurt the paint/finish at all over time?

Thanks.

Make sure they are clean and tight.  But, over time ,hey will gradually rub.  Also, if bike outside a lot, the paint under them will not fade like where the sun hits it.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

I have had mine on since I bought her new in 2000. Repainted in 02. As of 3-09 there has been no paint wear on mine. When I take the tank off, I clean under it.
I woudn't worry about if it did or not. If your gonna use the pouch then you won't see whats under it.

Yes, it will wear on the paint. I tried making sure I cleaned well whenever possible, waxed it up, etc but ultimately it still wore.

Side note: I also have the studs on mine.

why worry.  Take it off occasionaly and clean and wax the tank underneath it.  Also clean the bib itself underneath.
