The first big block powered Camaro since the 1970’s

572 cubic inches, fuel injected and 700+ horsepower. And Chevrolet admits it’s not really as powerful as their latest ls based supercharged 427 engine. They think in the not to distant future they won’t be allowed to offer such a package and the crate engine could be outlawed too. We have lived to see the upper limits of what a piston gas engine can do both in street and racing forms, a level I thought would be an impossibility back in the early seventies when OPEC and the insurance industry along with smog controls killed the performance car market.

Most feel these cars will be bought by collectors and never see a track.

Buy it now, what will your dollar buy 3 years from now? The car will appreciate (maybe) the dollar definitely won’t.

biggest engine car been in was a 500 cu inch big old 70s cadillac got tops 8 mpg and overheated easily.

I doubt that bigger camaro engine is much better mpg, but who cares right if can afford it,  mpg does not matter.

better grab it while still around for nearly all vehicles going 4 cylinders twin turbos much to my despise.

It doesn't matter. The COPO's don't have VINs. They can't be registered to be driven on the street. They are track cars only. Six figure track cars but they are fast. When I worked at a Chevy dealer we had one come in. It was cool and loud. It even came with a backup engine but no VIN. They had it listed if I remember correctly over 200 grand.

That's a classic!

A friend of a friend bought a Challenger Hellcat Redeye. He doesn't let it sit. He's all over the place running it. Bone stock, 10.6 1/4 times. I'm not a gearhead, but that's fast for stock. Rivals some motorcycles. I dont get cocky on the Valk when they are around. Fortunately not many around NE Ohio.
