Replacing the siphon hose on the radiator, I neglected to note the routing to the overflow tank.

I tried it with the hose rear of the casting, but it seems to put a sharp than desired bend in the hose.
Forward of the casting it goes by the alternator, not sure I like that either....

Could you take a quick look to see if the OEM hose route to the tank is forward or behind the
swing arm pivot casting?
Just wanted to note what the OEM is...

I've always run mine forward of the casting, between the swingarm and the frame member. The tank must be part way in place before you connect the hose.

Not positive that is the way it was originally, but I believe it to be.

I brought my Factory Service Manual over to Stanley Steamer's
house yesterday and one of the things we used it for was to look
at one of the really nice "how to route stuff" line drawings in
chapter two. They have routing information for pretty much
everything on the bike...

Forward of the casting seems correct. That’s how mine is and I’ve never messed with it. I believe it to be how it was routed at the factory

Um, part 2? Roll Eyes Me being a bit OCD, but photo of general relative location of the gas tank vent T behind the center cover?  I think I located mine too low.

looking from the back, vent tube is in front of the cross member so the vent tube should be also in front of the center cover since they're vertically above each other. Be sure to secure the end of the vent tube to it's clip on the front side of the kickstand bracket (second pic).
