a k a supply chain issues. The grocery store here in Wilow springs I frequent the most seems to be Not left out of the shortages thingy. Just Today-one of their truck delivery days-and I was looking for those bagged salads or in my case the shredded lettuce. Looked at the experation dates and 8-21 8-20 were the freshest I could find. W T H over? Talked with the Lady that runs the produce department and she informed me her entire salad order was cut including head lettuce. My Friend J T Is the head meat cutter here and he has had orders pared down or entirely cut. Just read where micky Ds can not get their milk shake makins. Also read somewhere or heard it on the "news" to expect Large price increases for-shudder-coffee. Anyone in their neck of the woods runnin up on similar circumstances? Anywho not roller skatin on the ceiling but things appear to be Not well in some areas. RIDE SAFE.

shortages in a lot of things not just food.   And the price is creeping up as well in everything due to short supply and high demand.

If I see hamburger now on sale 2.99 lb. for 80/20 mix,  makes me feel good inside got lucky.

Have not bought bacon since been over 4.00 lb. on sale or higher for well over 6 months or more now.   I guess I will live without some things not willing to pay thru the nose for some things I can or should really live without.

I think meat overall has gone up more so than most things, but still able to get chicken, pork, and ground turkey (substitute for some things vs. hamburger) relatively cheap.

did a 500 mile radius of dealerships in what I want on a new 2021 tundra truck and ONLY 1 available 2 hours into Illinois comparable to what I want and was going to jump at it UNTIL the sales mgr. called me back saving me a trip south since he wanted 3 grand above FULL MSRP.  Told him keep it no thanks and good luck finding a sucker who is willing to pay that much for a near base truck one step up being SR5 grade.

I was at the KIA dealer getting my wifes car recall done. Some one put 40 amp fuses in a place that should have had 25 amp. When they told me this I said what? a recall to change a fuse? Any way they have a KIA Carnival there. the MSRP is 36,000 and on the accy side it said MAV 13,999. I asked what MAV is and the sales man told me its Manufactures Adjustment Value due to chip shortage.
14 grand over msrp? told him,,, well never mind what I told him but i will not buy anything over msrp.

I only have one sibling but I now see my future as the tenth of ten kids when it comes to new stuff, hand me downs and used stuff for the foreseeable future. I haven’t been on a dealers car lot in 6 years, it would probably just piss me off anyway.

Just some foreshadowing of what’s may be to come.

I’ve heard of plenty of contractors in their specific fields having supply issues.

We’ve encountered lead time delays of 2 months or more for items which are typically in stock or a 2-3 week lead time. Simple items from one of our biggest suppliers are now on back order which typically ship in 2-3 days and supply issues on some basic stock size sheets of glass.

Where it will go doesn’t seem optimistic. We ordered a new 16’ enclosed trailer in March/April and was  told delivery would be mid-July, still haven’t heard from them. This is from one of the biggest dealers for trailers in the area/state, they usually have over 100 trailers on their lot. Salesman told me they put in a stock order in November, in April when I ordered and the lot was still empty.

I forget who told me (last week or week before) but apparently there’s an issue at ports where containers are just sitting and waiting for transport to final destinations. May have been one of our company reps/salesman who stopped in.

Was speaking to one of our customers and they’re replacing the windows in their home, lead time was 5 months for some basic double hung windows, not sure of the manufacturer but it’ didn’t sound like custom sizing or specifications.

So are there issues are there issues out there? I’d have to say yes. Will they get worse?  As the Magic 8 Ball would say “Outlook not so good”.

Friend of mine here in SoMo has a farm operation and he mentioned to me in passing that this years hay has been selling for 2  3  or 4 times last years hay. He also has a spare house on his property he was toying with the idea of fixin er up. Til he saw the material prices here bouts. I've also noticed double triple quadruple spacing on most of the car lots around whether new or used. Weren't That long ago they were parked near door to door. My local Honda dlr sales are down some too he's told me. I figure more than some down. I've had voice mails from car dealers I've NEVER talked with wantin to know would I be interested in selling my cage. Just the other day I bought eggs from Aldi that 2 or 3 months ago were .92 cents a dozen. Ones I bought were $1.14 a dozen. The milk at Aldi is well above 3 bucks a gal. Nor long ago a bit over 2 bucks a gal. Guessin here just keep on keepin on. RIDE SAFE.

Have been dealing with shortages all year at the business, malt powder, chicken, brownie pieces, now chocolate topping, yogurt, have been out of everything at one time or another. Now with school afoot might run out of help. ordered some vitals back in feb. for myself. got most of it, but have a set of reloading dies that are projected to be here mid january. everywhere it seems is a two box max per caliber, primers, powder all like hens teeth. Smiled to myself other day, was standing in line and saw canning lids, (about the same size box as primers) you guessed it . limit of two!

I even saw on the news shortages of bus drivers for schools starting soon some offering 1 grand sign on bonus for say 3 hrs of driving per day.  Not a bad gig if retired if can deal with a bus full of kids...

You say that now.   Let us know how that works out.   Wink   A bus load of kids is not a challenge I would look forward to.

All depends upon the type of parents.

I was lucky for 3 years driving for a public school system and got a great route of elementary and high school kids.

Then private schools and those kids are well parented.
