I just installed a new lift in my garage and bought a jack to lift my Standard Valk to change tires and do some service. After reading several posts on the VRCC Web Site it appears that the center of gravity for the Valk is between the motor and the center stand, is this correct?

My jack is a standard M/C sissor jack with several adapters but, none will reach up to the frame behind the motor and trans so I'll have to build something. I believe a couple of pieces of pipe will work nicely. When I get this done I'll photo it and post it for everyone to see.

I use a couple of 2x2s to reach up to the motor and back to the center stand bracket (I have the Rivco centerstand with the stand removed).  I then lay another 2x2 under the centerstand bracket.  This gives me a level lift on the Valk.

i can lift my standard, with windscreen and hard bags without the adapter :
one leg to the back of the engine, other leg in the middle of the engine.

but the bike sits a lot more stable with an adapter, supporting on the engine and the center stand bracket, allowing to remove wheels, bags, tank, and all other stuff safely.

this means the center of gravity is close the rear of the engine.

sincerely,
Anthony

I bought a motorcycle jack at O'Reilly for 80.00 and it works fine.
Just make shure you tie the girl to the jack. If that sucker goes, all you can do is watch.
And start the drinking process.
My girlfriend let her son drive down the dirt road. When he pulled into the driveway he forgot what the round thing in his hands was for. He ran into my 88 Jag. The Valk was right in front of it. He was very upset and nervous about what I'd say. I said thanks, because the Jag door was cheaper than a Valk side box.
Ya know.

I have an adapter that I just took off my I/S getting ready for the trike conversion.  It attaches to the frame member that the side stand is bolted to.  No drilling or extra hardware required.  PM me if you would like pics.  Stan
