"What color blue is that?"

Check those tires.
The consistent genesis of these blips... the whir of the engine, rumble of the exhaust, snap of the next gear, din of rubber making friction, let the fun begin.
Meet ups happening all over... the rides before the rides... rides after the rides...
Valks, Goldwings, Trikes, Harley, Triumph, Indian, CanAm, Slingshots...doesn't matter...it's all wind therapy.
The morning sun trying to burn off a fog that's as thick as smoke.
Cows or corn, not sure which I saw more of...
Black fog? ...no just a diesel belching oily exhaust.
Christmas trees in summer. Odd rows of dark green triangles stretched out across rolling hills.
Weedeatin' country folk on the side of the road in the sun are more polite than city drivers in A/C cars.
One stops what they're doing to let you go by, the other risks putt'n ya in the hospital to be first at the light.
Have to say, all these new roundabouts are more fun on the Valk than my pickup.
Drink Cheerwine (it's a southern treat).
Ah, the smell of honeysuckle.
Ran out of pavement, stopped and decided to see where it goes anyway.
If you saw that kudzu monster from a plane, I bet it'd look like Godzilla.
Can the slowest come in first? ...yes, at the Valkyrie rodeo.
Asking if anyone knows of a BBQ place in the area. (It's a thing, don't know why but I'm glad it is)
Over crowding a family diner. Making way too much noise. Eating too much. Everybody having fun, even the locals get in on it. Leaving a big tip and a smile.
Share the love, a motorcycle wave for the old man making his way among the cages on a liquorcycle.
There must be more money in horses. Their farms usually seem nicer than the ones for cows.
How did that goat get up there?
...did I mentions cows
A boy in a back seat, twisting his wrist to get me to blip the throttle. He'll be a rider someday...
Does that thing have an LED tail? ...no just a back lit squirrel running along a fence top.
15 mph curve? ...no just a suggestion.
Riding at the back of the rubber band and gett'n to open her up on the straight aways.
That German lady rides fast, I think I'll race her. ...”you will lose”(best German accent here)
Big round bales of hay randomly scattered across the landscape like they all ran out of gas in a strange race.
An old tractor abandoned on the bank of a creek, a long way from anything. Is that where it broke down? Did it get suck trying to pull a cow out of the mud?
Solo days are just as good... stopping, or eking out a few extra miles, on a whim, as often as desired.
Taking the time to turn around and go back and look. Who knows if or when you'll return.
Deja vu, I know I've traveled many miles and crossed state lines but this is just like that road back home.
I hope a day never comes when our country doesn't have large forest, farms and countryside.
Shady creek bed like a patch of A/C. Stand on the pegs and soak it in for that brief moment.
Flowering vines using dried corn for a trellis.
Unpaved road again? ...this is never planned of course.
Funny, asphalt, a preferred riding surface, however I wouldn't trade ten acres of weeds and woods for a hundred acres of asphalt surrounded by sidewalks and streetlights (monetary value aside).
The ubiquitous cow.
A full face helmet works well as a tote sack for small appropriate stuff. (don't carry your tools around)
I know my helmet wasn't twisting around on my head, how'd my hair end up like that?
A day of riding, the body and senses are asking for a break, the heart however is pleading “I know there's tomorrow but wouldn't it be fun to just keep going?”
Where's all that laughter coming from? Ah, I see 'em, out in the parking lot. Hey man, how was your ride? Drag a seat over here. Want a beer?

Ross,

Thanks for that! It was a pleasure 'riding along' with you... Glad to have you adding your take on things and most interesting perspective on rides. You're capturing of details usually looked over by most of us without those registering with our consciousness. Your writing style seems to trigger much thought and imagination in your readers' minds... word pictures like no other!!! Our own dormant memories are conjured up and mixed with your observations and descriptions and the whole thing turns into a good adventure for everybody!!! Good on ya...

Yesterday, down at the good breakfast place...

Carolyn and I came in the truck but it was fun eating something
other than oatmeal for breakfast.

Hey Ross, did you figure out how to get lost riding around on
those roads back in there?

Yep, I had fun trying... like you said, most are dead ends or bring you back to where you've been. Found a few small cove bridges with nice views of the lake.

Was passing through West Pelzer later and it dawned on me that I've never stopped to take a photo...

The Breakfast Place is at Mary Ann Branch boat ramp. You don't have to stay on that side of I-85.
All this area between the lakes is a good place to spend an hour or more getting lost on farm
roads. I don't really get lost anymore, but it is my back yard, so I often have plenty of fun
running half a tank of gas through the red bike's carburetors on these roads... The lake, and
I-85 make cause this area to have almost no "through traffic"...
