That deputy did exactly what he was trained to do, eliminate the threat, so he can go home to his family after his shift was over.
I am sure there are some liberal types that would try to make the case for the TV style of shootout by aiming for the hand, or trying to wound him so he stops shooting at you. That is not real life, that crap head got exactly what he deserved.
