I don't know about the NHIZ-P color but the NH1Z is the Honda Gloss Black.

I'm betting NHIZ-P is actually NH1Z-P with the P meaning Powdercoat for the frame.

I had some parts painted back in Sept.  I took the Honda Codes and the codes from ColorRite.  This was for the white on a purple & white.  I was told the Honda codes are missing a character and the ColorRite codes are ColorRite specific.  Turned out the white matched a Nissan Altima.  Came out looking perfect. cooldude

It is a 2001 IS Maroon/black model.  I cannot figure out the NH1Z-P.   The NH1Z is the black, and I thought the other code should be N260P for the Deep Pearl Red, or Cheyenne Red as it is sometimes called, ie by Colorrite.

The previous owner said he used those codes when he slid out at a stop sign on some oil, and had to replace the right saddlebag and the tank.  He had the Honda shop order new tank and saddlebag, using those two codes, and got the correct color direct from Honda.  Insurance was paying for it.

So, I am not understanding the NH1Z-P  meaning Deep Pearl Red, or the maroon on the 2001 IS.

I know a couple of you out there have the same color scheme.  Could you look on the frame under the left side cover, and let me know what your codes say?  One should be the NH1Z for the black.  The bottom one should be the red.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

MP, Colorite shows the code for Cheyenne Red as R260P.

Yeah.  Honda calls it Deep Pearl Red, but Colorrite calls it Cheyenne.

Both N260P.

So, why does the frame say NH1Z-P?  And, if you order from Honda using that code, you get the correct maroon/black?

Thanks.

They have what they call superseded #'s on lots of parts, paint and etc.

If you have not owned the bike from day 1, you can not and should not go by those codes, unless, YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY SAY THE TIN HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED.

At Marysville many moons ago I was talking to a high up employee about paint codes.      He popped a cover off of a bike, and pointed out the #'s to me,  one of the #'s had a -P behind it.    He said that indicated the paint was  (paint color)-PEARL.

If you send a sidecover to the sidecar guys and they use the little gizmo that checks the color, it should match whaterver you sent them, MP.  I did that with my valk and my vintage mustang, and they both matched perfectly. Can't hardley wait to see that IS!  Hoser

I am not worried about matching.  The tins that were replaced match the original tins.  Factory color on replaced from the factory.
Just confusing, like them calling the same color by 3 different names!

My sticker has color NH1 and code NH1Z.  No mention of the red.  It sure looks Cheyenne, Pearl, Maroon, Burgandy, Red to me.  It is a 2001 I/S.  Now I'm confused also.

Well, good.  The NH1Z must be some other code, rather than the direct color code, but it tells them it is the burgundy, maroon red.
Thank you very much.
Sorry for getting you confused too!  LOL   Smiley

Thanks, Scott.
That is interesting.  The color codes do NOT match the color codes listed at dags, browns, and rettlebars sites.

Yet, the label on my 97 Purple and white DOES.

Still learning, although I am not sure WHAT!  LOL

Thanks again.
